ChestHelper

ChestHelper is a lightweight, client-side quality-of-life mod for Valheim designed to eliminate storage chaos. It introduces an interactive in-game search bar, live 3D chest highlighting, and one-click chest sorting.

✨ Features

1. 🔎 In-Game Item Search Bar

• Instant Text Search: A neat, non-intrusive search bar placed directly above your inventory window. Type any resource or item name in English or Russian (e.g. copper, медь, wood, dvergr).
• 3D World Locator: Found chests across your base instantly light up with a floating beacon and soft glow.
• Inventory Dimming: Matching items in your bags stay highlighted while non-matching slots dim.
• Smart Input Blocking: Character movement (WASD, sprinting, jumping) and hotbar slots are safely paused while typing. Press Enter to regain full movement while keeping chests highlighted!
• Quick clear with Escape or the [×] button.

2. 🔍 3D Chest Highlighting on Item Hover

• Simply hover your mouse over any item in your inventory — all nearby base chests containing that item will instantly light up.
• Visual Beacon: A rotating 3D golden crystal beacon and gentle point light mark the chests.
• Soft Line-of-Sight Check: Smart obstacle filtering (MaxWallObstacles = 1) allows the glow to pass through a partition, door, or beam without cluttering chests behind several solid walls.
• Lag-Free: Highly optimized spatial cache; runs smoothly even in mega-bases.

3. 📦 One-Click Chest Sorting

• Adds a native "Sort" / "Сортировать" button inside the chest UI (positioned cleanly beneath Take All / Stack All).
• Stack Merging: Automatically combines fragmented item stacks.
• Smart Grouping: Orders items by role:
  • Weapons & Shields → Tools → Armor → Ammo → Food & Potions → Crafting Materials → Trophies → Misc.
• Secondary Ordering: Arranges items alphabetically (A-Z / А-Я) by localized name, quality tier, and durability.
• Drag-Safe: Prevents accidental clicks while dragging items.

4. 🌐 Full Multi-Language Support

• Seamlessly detects your active game language (English and Russian included out-of-the-box).
• Dynamic switching if language is changed in the game settings menu.

The config file is created automatically on first launch at:
Valheim/BepInEx/config/com.awuushy.chesthelper.cfg

🤝 Compatibility & Multiplayer

• 100% Client-Side: Safe for multiplayer. You can play on dedicated or vanilla servers without other players needing the mod.
• Quick Stack Mods: Fully compatible with quick stack mods (e.g., TidyChests, QuickStackStore). They handle stashing, ChestHelper handles searching and sorting!
• MultiUserChest: Fully compatible.
• Save-Safe: Adds no custom prefabs or world data. Can be added or removed from an ongoing playthrough at any time.

📥 Installation

Via Mod Manager (Recommended)

1. Install r2modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager.
2. Search for ChestHelper and click Download with Dependencies.

Manual Installation

1. Install BepInExPack Valheim.
2. Download and unzip the release.
3. Place ChestHelper.dll into your Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/ folder.
4. Start the game!

ChestHelper — легковесный клиентский QoL-мод, наводящий порядок на вашем складе в Valheim.

Основные возможности:

1. Текстовый поиск по сундукам: аккуратная строка поиска прямо над инвентарем. Введите название любого ресурса (например: медь, лен, чешуя) — и все сундуки на базе, в которых он хранится, сразу подсветятся 3D-маяком в реальном мире.
2. Умная блокировка ввода: во время ввода текста в строку поиска персонаж не ходит и не прыгает. Нажатие Enter возвращает управление героем, сохраняя подсветку сундуков активной!
3. Подсветка сундуков при наведении: наведите курсор на предмет в сумке — и сундуки с таким же предметом тут же подсветятся.
4. Мягкая проверка преград: маяк виден через 1 деревянную балку, дверь или перегородку (MaxWallObstacles = 1), но не захламляет экран сквозь толстые монолитные стены.
5. Кнопка «Сортировать» в сундуке: объединяет неполные пачки предметов и раскладывает инвентарь сундука по категориям (оружие → броня → стрелы → еда → ресурсы → трофеи) и русскому алфавиту.
6. Полная совместимость: работает на любых серверах (мод нужен только вам), полностью совместим с модами на автосброс предметов (TidyChests, QuickStack).
