ValheimModding-Jotunn
Jötunn (/ˈjɔːtʊn/, 'giant'), the Valheim Library was created with the goal of making the lives of mod developers easier. It enables you to create mods for Valheim using an abstracted API so you can focus on the actual content creation.

Leviathan
It is whispered that a warrior from another world once wielded this axe. The name has been forgotten, but the weapon still answers the call.

What awaits you
- An axe made to be thrown. It flies straight and sinks into wood and earth.
- Two throws, depending on how long you hold the button.
- The cold builds up. Hit the same creature a few times, and it freezes solid.
- Call it, and it comes back to your hand along a wide curve, striking the enemies in its way.
- A few tricks, for those who aim well.
Getting started
Forge it in the Mountains, at a level 3 forge, from silver, iron, freeze glands and ancient bark.
Throw it with the secondary attack (middle mouse button by default). Let go of the button at once, and it flies flat and bounces off creatures. Keep holding while your arm draws back, and it flies upright, strikes harder and stays stuck in them.
Call it back with the Hide key (R by default), with the secondary attack and an empty hand, or with its hotbar slot. It never leaves your inventory, even while it flies. Between throws, fight with your fists or a shield, as its legend demands.
Stone, metal and ice send the axe bouncing back instead of letting it bite. After a bounce, it falls to the ground, where tall grass can hide it: call it back. Bosses do not freeze.
Multiplayer
The server and every player must have the mod, at the same version. Otherwise the connection is refused with an explicit message.
The axe's rules come from the server, and only an admin can change them in game. The controls are each player's own.
Configuration
Configuration Manager compatible. Calling the axe back with the Hide key or the secondary attack can be turned off, and an extra key can be bound.
Installation
With a mod manager: I recommend Gale or Vortex.
By hand: install BepInExPack Valheim and Jötunn first, then put
LeviathanAxe.dll, LeviathanAxe.Module.dll and the Translations folder in
BepInEx/plugins/LeviathanAxe/. On a dedicated server, do the same in the
server's folder.
Built with Claude
Made with Claude, Anthropic's AI model, which wrote the code, the scripts that build the axe's model and textures, and this page. I review the code and test it extensively in game before each release.
