README

This Is Valheim!

No one tells me how to open a door.

Kick a door and it bursts open.

Multiplayer

Install it on every client that should get the show. Nothing goes on the server, and unmodded players just see a normal door open.

CHANGELOG

Changelog

0.1.2

  • look at a shut door and press the secondary attack button, and you kick it instead of swinging your weapon's special move.
  • improved double door kicking
  • fixed door closing speed

0.1.1

  • Kicking a warded or locked door no longer does nothing: it rattles, tells you why it won't open, and throws you back a step.
  • Looking at a door you could kick open with your hands empty now shows the kick button. Switch it off with ShowHint if you would rather find out the hard way.
  • Changing the effect list in-game now takes effect on the next kick instead of after a restart.

0.1.0

  • Doors can be kicked open. Put your weapon away and kick one — the game's own bare handed secondary attack, no new key to bind.
  • A kicked door bursts open four times faster than normal, with a battering ram's impact, splintering wood, sawdust and a thump on the camera going off in its face.
  • The effects are a list of the game's own, by name, so you can drop a layer, silence the kick, or swap the lot for the Forsaken power activation.
  • Everyone running the mod sees and hears the kick; everyone else just sees the door open.
  • Warded doors still refuse to be kicked, and a door that wants a key still wants its key — unless you switch that off.
