LootFilter
ai usage disclaimer
with the exception of this readme, everything in this repo is ai-generated.
description
this mod adds a configurable loot filter. when an item is filtered:
- it will not be picked up automatically
- its sparkles will be hidden (or optionally recolored)
usage
all keys are configurable. defaults are presented below along with their config key. "hovering" below refers to both the act of hovering over it in your inventory/storage and the act of aiming at it on the ground such that the tooltip appears.
to add/remove an item from the filtered list, press Del (ToggleItem) while hovering over it.
to add/remove an item group (e.g., materials, trophies, tools, etc.), press Shift+Del (ToggleGroup) while hovering over an item from the desired group.
to toggle filtering, press Ins (TogglePause). this is intended to be a temporary toggle and is not persisted between game launches. if you want to disable the mod entirely, either remove all items and groups from the filter or uninstall it.
to temporarily reveal filtered items, hold Alt (Reveal). this temporarily removes any sparkle configuration and makes the item's sparkles display as they normally would. it does not disable filtering.
not supported
group exclusions (e.g., "i don't want anything from the materials group except for stone") are not supported. they may be supported next time i feel like slopping on this mod.
mod compatibility
MyBuildCamera's camera auto-pickup should respect the filter.
non-goals
advanced filtering for mods like EpicLoot will never be supported. custom items should be filterable, but this mod will never add support for filtering based on rarity, stats, or things of that nature.

CHANGELOG
Changelog
This changelog is written by Claude, an AI assistant, from the project's commit history.
1.0.1
- If a game update breaks something the mod relies on, the mod now turns itself off completely and says so in game and in the log, instead of running half-patched.
- An error in auto-pickup filtering, tooltips or the hotkeys is logged once and shown as a single message instead of repeating every frame.
- If the optional My Build Camera support fails to load, the rest of the filter keeps working (with a warning in the log). Previously the hotkeys and drop effects could be left off.
- If the drop effects switch themselves off after repeated errors, filtered drops get their sparkles back.
1.0.0
- Initial release: mark items or whole item groups as junk with a hotkey while hovering them (inventory, chest or ground).
- Filtered items aren't auto-picked up, including by My Build Camera's free camera; they can still be picked up by hand.
- Filtered drops' sparkles and glow can be hidden or recoloured, and a hotkey reveals them while held.
- A pause key turns the filter off until the next restart.
