WKTranslator
A translation utility for White Knuckle designed to provide localization options for the community.
Purpose
This mod serves as a localization solution for players to enjoy the game in their native languages before official localization is officially implemented in the game itself. It acts as a bridge to ensure the game is accessible to a wider audience during its development.
While the mod is currently in a functional stage, it provides the core framework needed to begin translating in-game content.
Features
- Bridge Localization: Fills the gap until official language support is added.
- Text Replacement: Hooks into game text elements to allow for custom string overrides.
- Image / Audio Replacement: Allows Replacing virtually any texture or audio in the game.
- Custom Fonts: Has custom fonts for certain languages, if any font doesn't work, see below how to solve that.
- Lightweight: Minimal impact on game performance.
How to Translate?
Join the WK Modding Server, connect with others that also want to translate to the language of your choice (in the #translations channel). And finally translate it on my Weblate Instance. Please for the love of everything, don't do it solo, always communicate with others
Help, the font doesn't look right
Please Join the WK Modding Server and contact me (galfar.exe) or (achelia) to add your desired font into the mod, so it would display correctly :D
Installation
Via mod manager (r2modman, Gale, etc.)
- Open r2modman.
- Search for
WKTranslatorin the Online tab. - Click Download.
Manual Installation
- Ensure you have BepInEx installed.
- Download the
WKTranslator.zip. - Extract the contents into your
BepInEx/pluginsfolder.
How to Use
- Config Files: Check the
BepInEx/configfolder after the first run to see if a configuration file has been generated, if yes, modify it to choose your language. The config file is named same as the mod. - Translation Files: Translations can be in any folder inside
BepInEx/plugins, as long as they follow the template.
Current Status
This mod is a work in progress. As it is a community tool meant to precede official updates, please expect:
- Some UI elements may remain in the default language.
- Potential formatting adjustments as the game's official localization draws nearer.
- Custom font support
