Skills

Slot Skill Description
Passive Rubber Body Immune to fall damage.
Primary Gum-Gum Pistol Stretch an arm up to 30 m. The fist hits the first enemy and everything within 3 m of it for 500%. Alternates arms; attack speed raises the punch rate.
Secondary Gum-Gum Gatling 5 s barrage of 12 punches/s (more with attack speed) at 50% each. Fly freely while punching: W/S along your aim, A/D to strafe, Jump to rise. 10 s cooldown.
Utility Gum-Gum Rocket Grab terrain or an enemy up to 60 m away and launch yourself at it. Deals 300%-900% in an area on impact, depending on your speed. Hold to stay attached. 7 s cooldown.
Special Gear Second Instant. For 20 s: +75% movement speed, +100% attack speed, +20% damage, with a steaming pink glow. 30 s cooldown.
Ultimate Gum-Gum Giant Gatling A meter fills as you deal and take damage. When it's full, press X. Luffy turns invincible, leaps up with giant fists and pounds the aimed area 8 times/s for 4 s (213% each, 6800% in all) while giant afterimage fists rain down on it.

The ultimate meter sits above the Gear Second icon. Its charge carries over between stages.

Skins

Skin How to unlock
Straw Hat (pre-timeskip) Default
Marineford Unlocked from the start
Alabasta Luffy: Prime Meridian: as Luffy, defeat the False Son.
Stampede Luffy: Memento Mori: as Luffy, defeat the secret boss behind the Reincarnation door.
Long Ring Long Land Luffy: Mastery: as Luffy, beat the game or obliterate on Monsoon or harder.

Every skin has its own stretch arms, uses the same animations and has a ragdoll.

Gum-Gum Giant Gatling ChargePerDamageTaken 1.2 Meter % per 1% of max health lost.

Gum-Gum Pistol BaseDuration / DamageCoefficient / ImpactRadius / AimAssistAngle 1.2 / 5 / 3 / 4 Pistol tuning.
Model UseLuffyModel true false swaps in a Loader-based placeholder model.

Notes

  • Multiplayer: every player needs the mod, on the same version.
  • Sounds: the move sounds are mp3s played through Windows' media playback, because the game mutes Unity audio. They follow the game's volume sliders. Under Proton/Wine they may stay silent.
  • The ultimate key is a keyboard key; there is no controller binding yet.
  • AI-controlled Luffys (e.g. Vengeance) don't use the ultimate.

Credits

  • Character models and animations: One Piece Bounty Rush (Bandai Namco). Only the giant-arm meshes and the giant-smash animation were taken from the Film Red Luffy model.
  • Skill icons, portrait and sound effects: made for this mod by its author.
  • Built from the HenryTutorial survivor template.

Fan-made and not affiliated with or endorsed by Eiichiro Oda, Shueisha, Toei Animation, Bandai Namco or Hopoo Games / Gearbox. One Piece and its characters belong to their respective owners.

CHANGELOG

1.0.1

  • New mod description.

1.0.0

  • First public release.
  • Giant Gatling: Luffy jumps up, then only the airborne swinging part of the animation loops during the barrage (he no longer drops back to the ground between loops). The final smash is gone; the barrage hits harder instead (213% per hit, same 6800% total) and many more giant afterimage fists rain down on the area at random.
  • The ultimate meter now sits right above the Gear Second icon, at the same size, with the key shown under it once it's ready.
  • Default ultimate key is now X (config: Gum-Gum Giant Gatling.Keybind).
  • Character select: Luffy's intro voice line plays with his entrance.

0.9.0

  • New ultimate: Gum-Gum Giant Gatling. A meter fills as you deal and take damage (kept between stages); when it's full press V (config: Gum-Gum Giant Gatling.Key). Luffy plants himself, is invincible, inflates both arms into giant fists (Film Red giant-arm meshes and its double giant smash animation, on every skin) and pounds the aimed area 8 times a second for 4 s (150% each, 9 m area) before a 2000% double smash (14 m). Shown as a 5th skill in character select and as a meter at the bottom centre of the screen.
  • Move sounds: Pistol, Gatling, Rocket, Gear Second and Giant Gatling play their own clip when the move starts (they replace the borrowed Loader start sounds; impact sounds stay). The game mutes Unity audio, so they play through Windows' media player API and follow the game's Master/SFX volume (plus config Sound.Volume). Gatling's and Giant Gatling's clips are longer than the moves, so they fade out when the move ends.
  • Icons: all skill icons and the character portrait now use the custom art.
  • Base health now matches MUL-T (200, +60 per level).
  • Gatling speed lines use Luffy's own line material (the borrowed ones drew nothing) and the camera shake now actually reaches the camera (its range was smaller than the camera distance).

0.8.0

  • Skins are now locked behind Luffy's challenges, like vanilla survivors:
    • Long Ring Long Land (Afro): "Luffy: Mastery" - beat the game or obliterate on Monsoon (or harder).
    • Alabasta: "Luffy: Prime Meridian" - defeat the False Son.
    • Stampede: "Luffy: Memento Mori" - defeat the secret boss behind the Reincarnation door. Marineford stays free.
  • Gatling speed lines/shake: wider camera match, lines start further ahead so they stay on screen, stronger shake, and a log line saying what was started.

0.7.0

  • Ragdolls: Luffy now goes limp and tumbles when he dies (every skin).
  • Gatling: speed lines fixed (they failed to load a material before) and a small camera shake while the barrage lasts.

0.6.1

  • Mastery (Afro): head and neck sit where the original model has them (no longer sunk into the shoulders).
  • Memento Mori: stretch arms now reach all the way from the shoulder (only the forearm showed before).
  • Gatling: new speed lines that rush past the screen edges during the barrage (the copied sprint lines never showed).

0.6.0

  • New skins (all unlocked for now): Cleared Prime Meridian (Alabasta Luffy), Memento Mori (Stampede Luffy, with his gold back piece and green sack), Mastery (Afro Luffy). Each uses the same animations and its own stretch arms.
  • Gum-Gum Gatling: fly freely with WASD while punching (W/S along your aim, A/D strafe, Jump to rise, hover with no input), at your current move speed or faster. The camera zooms in a little and speed lines play while it lasts.
  • Gear Second: instant. No more 1.5 s stance; the buff starts on the key press and you keep moving and attacking.
  • Character select: the Marineford hat no longer passes through Luffy during the entrance.
  • Fixed body parts disappearing when the camera is close to a wall.

0.5.0

  • New default skin: pre-timeskip Luffy (Bounty Rush model, smiling), on the same skeleton and animations as before.
  • The Marineford Luffy model is now an alternate skin ("Marineford"), unlocked from the start.
  • Character select plays the Stampede Luffy entrance, then idles. The lobby shows the selected skin.
  • Gatling ghost fists: wilder, more scattered flurry over a wide area around the aim point; some fall short. They now move with Luffy instead of staying behind when he flies forward.
  • Fixed ghost fists appearing on Gum Gum Pistol at high attack speed (e.g. during Gear 2); only Gatling makes them now.

0.4.3

  • Gatling: a flurry of extra stretched fists around the area he's punching (visual afterimages; damage unchanged).
  • Upper/lower body split: legs follow the direction you run (up to ~65°), the torso turns toward where you aim (up to ~70°) and leans a little when aiming up/down, like vanilla survivors.
  • Stretch arms hold their pose briefly after a punch so the normal arm doesn't flash in between Gatling punches.

0.4.2

  • Stretch arms now start at the shoulder socket on the torso, not the animated shoulder bone (no more arm coming out of his back).
  • Gatling: no punch clip replay (it jerked the shoulders back 12 times a second); the stretch arms and afterimages do the work.

0.4.1

  • Stretch arms: the shoulder now stays attached to the body while the arm is stretched (fixes the "broken shoulder" on right-hand punches).

0.4.0

  • Attack visuals: Pistol and Gatling punches use Luffy's real stretch arms (the model's own rubber-arm meshes), reaching from the shoulder to whatever the punch hits and snapping back; Gatling leaves quick afterimage fists. Rocket stretches both arms to the grab point and holds them while you swing.
  • Punch animation (Bounty Rush combo punch, mirrored for the left hand) on the upper body only, so he keeps running while attacking.
  • The old line arms remain only as a fallback for the Loader placeholder.
  • No gameplay or balance changes. Gear 2 has no animation (tint + steam only).

0.3.1

  • Character select: own display model that plays Luffy's entrance animation, then idles (fixes the broken menu view).

0.3.0

  • New model: Bounty Rush "Marineford" Luffy with its own textures and animations (idle, run, jump / air / landing). Replaces the 0.2.x model and its hand-made animations.
  • Skill animations come next; no gameplay or balance changes.

0.2.1

  • Animations: idle battle stance with a grin (breathing/bouncing loop), walk, sprint (based on Bounty Rush Luffy's run: upright, pumping fists, high knees, trailing-foot flick, small bounce). Playback follows actual move speed.
  • Placeholder jump / rising / falling poses. Skill animations, Gear 2 pose and the level intro come next.
  • No gameplay or balance changes.

0.2.0

  • Real Luffy model (from AssetBundles/luffybundle) instead of the Loader copy: cleaned-up mesh, flat toon colours, own hurtbox and skin list (default "Straw Hat" skin; ready for alternate skins). No animations yet (rest pose) and no item displays yet.
  • Gear Second tint and steam work on any skin.
  • Config Model.UseLuffyModel (default true) switches back to the Loader placeholder. If the bundle is missing the placeholder is used automatically.
  • No gameplay or balance changes.

0.1.3

  • Gum-Gum Pistol: 500% per punch (was 600%). When the fist connects it hits everything within 3m of the impact (about three bunched-up small enemies), each enemy once; config Gum-Gum Pistol.ImpactRadius.
  • Gum-Gum Rocket: travels more directly at the grab point (pull x1.6, aim steering x0.5, +8 m/s toward the point when the arms catch).
  • Gear Second: damage bonus +20% (was +50%). Startup now has a steam jet that ramps up hard toward the end of the 1.5s and finishes with a big burst.

0.1.2

  • Gum-Gum Pistol: one punch every 1.2s (divided by attack speed); quick swing then a pause between arms; 600% per punch. Swing now drives both of the model's gesture layers (fuller punch animation).
  • Gum-Gum Gatling: 12 punches/s at 50% each (same total damage), proc coefficient 0.25 (same procs/s); faster punch animation; Luffy drifts slowly (5 m/s) in the aimed direction, gravity cancelled, to reach flying enemies.
  • Gum-Gum Rocket: movement now uses Loader's grapple physics (tuning read from Loader's hook): pull + aim steering + strafe, gravity/swinging, hold the key to stay attached, momentum kept on release. Grab, range and 300-900% impact unchanged. Runs on its own "Hook" state machine.
  • Gear Second: 30s cooldown; 1.5s activation stance with charge pose and steam bursts; more steam while active; fixed the charge pose staying stuck after activation.
  • Config: Gum-Gum Pistol.DamageCoefficient, Diagnostics.LogRocketImpacts.

0.1.1

  • Gum-Gum Pistol: fixed a held primary restarting the punch at 25% of its swing (it fired ~3.6x faster than designed). The swing now always completes; animation and interval scale with attack speed.
  • Gum-Gum Pistol: slower default rate (0.35s per punch at 100% attack speed, configurable), damage unchanged at 400%.
  • Gum-Gum Pistol: aim assist toward the enemy nearest the crosshair (4 deg cone, range + line of sight checked, configurable); at most one damaging hit per punch.
  • Config file with optional per-punch diagnostic logging (off by default).
  • build.bat no longer installs into a profile unless run as "build.bat install".

0.1.0

  • First playable build: survivor registration, all four skills, Gear Second, placeholder (Loader-clone) model.
