README

Gentlemen's Mod Manager

A MODS page in the main menu of A Gentlemen's Dispute (between CREDITS and QUIT), built on the game's official mod loader. It adds no weapons, perks or maps of its own.

Everyone in the lobby needs the same mods and versions installed.

What it does

  • Turn mods on and off. Every installed mod is listed with its version and status. Changes are saved when the game closes; APPLY & QUIT saves them right away. Don't change mods while a lobby is open.
  • Party code. The header shows a code built from the mods you have loaded. Friends with the same code can play together.
  • Weapon spawn rates. Every mod that adds weapons gets a row per weapon from x0 (never spawns) to x3, and the Base Game page has the same rows for the game's own weapons.
  • Mod options. Mods that ship options get their own OPTIONS tab with sliders, toggles and choices.
  • The host's values win. In a friend's lobby, gameplay options and spawn rates come from the host (shown locked as "Host's value"). HUD, sound and visual options stay your own.
  • Escape or gamepad B goes back to the main menu.

Manual install

  1. Close the game.
  2. Download this package (Manual Download) and unzip it anywhere.
  3. Open the game's folder: in Steam, right-click A Gentlemen's Dispute > Manage > Browse local files.
  4. Open the Mods folder there (create it if it is missing).
  5. Copy the ModManager folder from the zip into Mods, so you end up with Mods\ModManager\mod.json. Copy the whole folder, not just what is inside it; the other files in the zip (manifest.json, README.md, icon.png) are not needed.
  6. Start the game. The mod is loaded automatically.
  • Updating: delete the old Mods\ModManager folder first, then copy in the new one.
  • Uninstalling: delete Mods\ModManager.

Don't edit or add files inside the mod folder: the game checks the mod's files, and a changed folder will not match other players in a lobby.
