README

Aska Precision Building

A BepInEx (IL2CPP) mod for ASKA that adds precise, snap-angle rotation when placing structures. Aska's built-in rotation (Q/E) is smooth/free; this mod adds dedicated keys that rotate the building preview in clean, fixed steps.

Features

  • Snap rotate the building preview in fixed steps with a single key press.
  • Selectable step size: 15° / 45° / 90°, cycled with one key.
  • Aska's normal rotation (Q/E) is left completely untouched — use whichever you prefer, even mixed.
  • On-screen indicator showing the current snap step.
  • All keys and options are configurable (BepInEx config / Thunderstore Mod Manager config editor).

Default controls

Key Action
← Left Arrow Rotate one step counter-clockwise
→ Right Arrow Rotate one step clockwise
R Cycle snap step: 15° → 45° → 90°
Q / E Vanilla smooth rotate (unchanged)

Configuration

Settings live in BepInEx/config/AskaPrecisionBuilding.cfg (or edit them in the Thunderstore Mod Manager config editor):

  • General/Enabled — master switch for the snap keys.
  • Keybinds/SnapRotateLeft, Keybinds/SnapRotateRight, Keybinds/CycleSnapAngle — rebind to any KeyCode.
  • General/StartSnapAngle — step selected at startup (15/45/90).
  • HUD/ShowIndicator — toggle the on-screen indicator.
  • Debug/VerboseLogging — extra logging while tuning.

Current scope / known limitation

Snapping currently works for structures placed with Aska's AnchorPointPlacementTool family (walls and anything that snaps onto another building) and grid placement. Some other building types use different placement tools and are not yet supported.
