Big Walk Coastal Carrack
Adds three large medieval sailing ships that continuously travel around Big Walk's island. The carracks are fully boardable moving platforms with walkable decks, stairs, rails, gangplanks, sails, cabins, and a working train-style throttle.
Features
- Three carracks spaced evenly around a terrain-validated coastal circuit.
- Large walkable main deck, forecastle, sterncastle, stairs, rails, and cabin roof.
- Extended gangplanks on both sides of every ship.
- Twelve close coastal approach stretches that provide regular boarding opportunities.
- Genuine train lever model mounted on a solid ship throttle pedestal.
- Smooth acceleration, long-range course anticipation, and limited rudder speed.
- Automatic terrain clearance to keep the bow, stern, and sides away from rocks.
- Route caching after the first terrain scan for faster later launches.
Installation
Install with Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman, select your Big Walk profile, and launch the game modded.
For manual installation, install BepInExPack IL2CPP and place BigWalkShipMod.dll in BepInEx/plugins.
Using the throttle
Stand near the helm and aim at the blue train-lever handle:
- Mouse wheel: adjust speed in 10% steps.
- Left click or E: increase throttle by 25%.
- Right click: decrease throttle by 25%.
The fleet starts at 50% throttle. Changing any ship's lever controls the shared fleet speed.
Configuration
Settings are created under charl.bigwalk.coastalcarrack after the first launch:
- Enable or disable the ships.
- Maximum helm speed in metres per second.
- Sea-level position.
- Diagnostic log key (F10 by default).
Multiplayer
Every player should install the same version. The ships are generated locally rather than spawned as a networked vanilla prefab, so a host-only installation will not make the ship visible or boardable for unmodded clients.
