Skin Search
Search through your installed CrewBoom skins and apply them in-game, without walking to a cypher or scrolling through every character.
Features
- Search your skins by name, filename, or the character they replace
- Apply instantly with one click, keeping each character's saved outfit
- Favorites – star skins to pin them to the top of the list
- Recently used – switch sorting between A-Z and most recently used
- Graffiti thumbnails – see each skin's graffiti next to its name
Usage
- Load into a stage.
- Press F7 to open the Skin Search window.
- Type to search, then click a skin to apply it.
- Click ☆ to favorite a skin(It will appear at the top of the list).
- Close the window with the X button (or F7 when the search box isn't focused).
Note: While typing in the search box, the game still gets your key presses, so your character will move. You can open the window while paused to avoid this. Warning Only apply skins during normal gameplay. Switching characters during cutscenes or dialogue will probably make your game crash.
Configuration
Settings are in BepInEx/config/chimp.brc.skinsearch.cfg (or through r2modman's config editor):
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
ToggleKey |
F7 |
Key that opens/closes the window |
ShowThumbnails |
true |
Show graffiti thumbnails |
SortMode |
Name |
Name or Recent – favorites always stay on top |
Favorites and recently used skins are also saved in this file and are managed in-game.
Replacement skins
Skins that replace a vanilla character (e.g. "replaces Red") are applied by setting CrewBoom's Replacement IDs config for that character. This means the chosen skin stays selected for that character across sessions, the same as setting it manually in CrewBoom's config.
