README

BONELAB Fusion Killer Mode

Killer Mode is an experimental asymmetric horror gamemode for BONELAB Fusion. One player becomes the Killer while the other players hide, survive the timer, or escape through a configured exit.

Requirements

  • BONELAB on PC
  • MelonLoader 0.6.x
  • Fusion 1.14.2
  • BoneLib 3.2.2
  • The same Killer Mode version installed by every player

Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman installs the required Fusion and BoneLib packages automatically.

Features

  • Host-authoritative Killer, Survivor, and Spectator roles
  • Escape and Survival modes
  • Saved per-map lobby, Killer, Survivor, Spectator, door, and escape locations
  • Host-only round settings and safe start/pause/resume controls
  • Custom Killer avatar and right-hand equipment selection
  • Safe PolyBlank fallback when a selected Killer avatar is unavailable
  • Starting inventory cleanup and automatic round-item cleanup
  • One configured flashlight per Survivor
  • Configurable health, movement, darkness, and fog
  • Countdown, round, Last Survivor, and looping heartbeat sounds
  • Last Survivor reveal visible only to the Killer
  • Private spectator voice group
  • Custom-map SDK components and in-game map setup tools

Flashbangs are temporarily disabled in multiplayer while they are being tested.

Quick Start

  1. Install this package with Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman.
  2. Make sure every player has the same version installed.
  3. Start a Fusion lobby and load a playable level.
  4. Open Fusion's Gamemodes page and select Killer Mode.
  5. The host configures the round and places custom-map locations if needed.
  6. Press Start Round Now, or allow Fusion's automatic countdown to start it.

Manual Installation

Copy BONELABFusionKillerMode.dll from the package's Mods folder into your BONELAB Mods folder. Install Fusion and BoneLib separately.

Do not install the Solo Test DLL together with the multiplayer DLL.

Custom-Map Setup

Open Killer Mode > In-Game Map Setup, press Begin Setup / Pause Auto-Start, walk to each location, and place:

  • White: pre-round lobby
  • Red: Killer spawn
  • Cyan: Survivor spawns
  • Gray: Spectator area
  • Brown door and green area: Escape objective

Press Finish Setup / Allow Round Start when finished. Layouts save separately for each map and remain saved after closing BONELAB.

Optional Content

Third-party weapon, flashlight, and avatar packs are separate downloads. Killer Mode only stores their public barcodes and does not redistribute their files.

Custom downloaded Killer avatars must be available through Fusion downloading or installed manually. If one is unavailable, the Killer safely uses PolyBlank for that round.

Alpha Notice

This is an alpha release. Multiplayer synchronization, custom-map effects, custom avatars, and certain map-specific lighting features may still require fixes.

Development used AI-assisted coding and human-directed testing. Please report issues with the latest MelonLoader log and the Killer Mode version number.
