ArtifactIdFix
Fixes the Content Event Size Mismatch window, "Size mismatch on content event: PropContentEvent. Expected: 56295424, Read: 0". It appears after someone films a modded artifact, such as the Snail Egg from Progression Rebalance.
What goes wrong
A filmed artifact is saved in the clip as a content id plus 3 bytes: held, active and the item id. The player who reads the clip looks the id up in the game's prop list.
DB's Content API gives a modded artifact the next free artifact id (24 for the Snail Egg), but it never adds the artifact to the game's prop list. In that list, 24 is an ordinary prop that is saved with no extra bytes.
So the Snail Egg is read as that prop and its 3 bytes are left over. The game shows the error window. Then the rest of the clip's events are read from the wrong place, so they give fewer views and comments.
What the mod does
- If a modded artifact's id belongs to another prop, the artifact gets a free id instead, starting from 1900.
- Ids are given in item order, so every player with the same mods gets the same ids.
- When a clip is read, these ids are turned back into the artifact.
Everyone in the lobby needs this mod. If a player without it films the Snail Egg, the clip still has the old id.
