MultiStarSystems

Stable, visibly moving two- to six-star systems with explorable outer planetary systems.

CHANGELOG

Changelog

1.3.4 - 2026-07-29

  • Fixed loading multi-star saves created before outer hierarchy stars could own planets. Legacy plans now retain their original single-real-star planet topology, preventing core save data from being read with shifted planet IDs.

1.3.3 - 2026-07-29

  • Fixed save loading when another galaxy-generation mod restores the selected gameplay-star count after Multi-Star Systems has expanded it into physical companion stars.
  • Multi-star save restoration now runs after compatible galaxy generators have completed their setup, and logs an explicit diagnostic when a .dsv file and its .moddsv sidecar do not belong together.

1.3.2 - 2026-07-27

  • Added a compatibility warning for BulletTime, which may conflict with galaxy generation, stellar motion, or save loading.
  • Clarified the public compatibility notes.

1.3.1 - 2026-07-27

  • Added compatibility with wandering planet III.
  • Reserved wandering-system star IDs outside the multi-star plan and prevented wandering anchors from consuming multi-star members.

1.3.0 - 2026-07-27

  • Outer hierarchy stars can now generate and retain their own planets while remaining virtual for Dark Fog and Dyson-sphere ownership.
  • Double-binary systems now support an outer binary subsystem: its primary star owns planets, and its companion remains planetless.
  • Planet-owning outer stars remain directly selectable, reachable, and synchronized while their stellar hierarchy moves.

1.2.1 - 2026-07-27

  • Reduced the default stellar orbit multiplier from 3600x to 1800x. Existing untouched 3600x settings migrate automatically.
  • Guaranteed a visible O-star or blue-giant virtual companion in each new galaxy without increasing the special-system rate.
  • Kept hierarchical massive outer stars virtual and placed them outside the real star's outermost planetary orbit; inner binaries remain compact.
  • Restored multi-star relationship text inside the star-detail panel, reserving vertical space so it no longer overlaps resource entries.

1.2.0 - 2026-07-27

  • Raised the default stellar orbit speed from 20x to 3600x and migrated untouched legacy default settings so binary motion is immediately visible.
  • New galaxies now treat the selected star count as the number of planet-owning stars; a default 64-star galaxy contains exactly 64 real or single stars plus any required virtual companions.
  • Guaranteed at least one O star in every newly generated galaxy and separated white dwarfs from the neutron-star/black-hole compact-object binary branch.
  • Added inverse-square companion-star fill lighting on local planets. It is capped at 35% of the primary light so an opposite companion can produce twilight-level nights without full daytime brightness.
  • Moved multi-star relationship text to a dedicated side area of the star-detail panel to avoid resource-list overlap.

1.1.0 - 2026-07-27

  • Reserved primary orbit slots 1 through 5 for every real star in newly generated multi-star systems; all direct planets now begin at slot 6.
  • Expanded each real multi-star system's maximum stellar diameter to 3.0-5.5 times the real star's theoretical first-orbit diameter.
  • Added separately randomized 1.0-5.0 factors for virtual-only nested subsystems, while keeping every hierarchy inside its real system's maximum diameter.
  • Added save-layout versioning so existing 1.0.x multi-star saves retain their original spacing and remain loadable.
  • Fixed multi-star plans being discarded during save loading or new-game initialization, which could reset stars to normal galaxy positions.
  • Added multi-star relationship text to the star-detail panel, including nested binary and four-star relationships.
  • Synchronize real-star planet poses immediately before star or planet arrival so sandbox direct travel uses current multi-star coordinates.

1.0.2 - 2026-07-26

  • Fixed Wrong version of unigen algorithm! during galaxy preview and new-game creation.
  • Stopped using GameDesc.galaxyAlgo as a mod marker; the vanilla algorithm version is now preserved unchanged.
  • New games generate deterministic plans directly, while existing saves are recognized exclusively through matching DSPModSave data.

1.0.1 - 2026-07-26

  • Fixed Harmony argument binding for Dyson editor star selection, which prevented version 1.0.0 from initializing in game.
  • Changed all single-star redirection patches to positional argument binding so original parameter names cannot break initialization.

1.0.0 - 2026-07-26

  • Added deterministic two- through six-star system generation.
  • Added binary, triangle, hierarchical triple, square, double-binary, hierarchical four-star, pentagon, and hexagon layouts.
  • Added the requested 30% square, 30% double-binary, and 40% triple-plus-massive four-star distribution.
  • Added exactly one real star per system and suppression of planets, factories, Dark Fog, asteroid belts, and Dyson spheres on virtual stars.
  • Added direct-binary luminosity combination for Dyson spheres.
  • Added guaranteed special-star generation and approximately 50% special multi-star systems.
  • Added fast visible inner-binary motion plus moving outer stars and binary barycenters.
  • Added next-frame planet interpolation correction for moving real stars.
  • Added deterministic save serialization, navigation redirection, tests, and game-assembly patch validation.
