M1918 Chauchat .30-06

The Chauchat M1918 was the American .30-06 version of the French famed Chauchat light machine gun, produced specifically for the U.S. Army rather than simply being converted from French 8mm rifles. It retained the Chauchat's unusual long recoil action, but the .30-06 version used a straight 15 round detachable magazine, a modified magazine well and a relocated foregrip. Most sources say the original 16 rounded magazine gets down loaded due to reliability issues.
