GunSoundSwap
Replaces weapon sound effects in Jump Space. Everything else (reloads, enemies, music) stays vanilla.
What is replaced
| Weapon | What changes |
|---|---|
| SMG | shot sounds and tails (shortened loop ending with a quick fade on release) |
| PDW | shot sounds |
| Assault rifle | shot and opening-shot sounds |
| Materia Gun | shot sounds |
| Javelin (marksman rifle) | layered shot body and tail |
| Heatblade | draw, swing, block (swing sounds), hit impacts and projectile deflections (shared melee hit sound also affects other melee weapons) |
How it works
On startup the mod patches the game's Main.bnk sound bank with the audio in its wems folder. The original is backed up next to it as Main.bnk.gss_original.
Safety: the mod only patches the unmodified stock bank, verifies the result against a known-good checksum before installing it, and otherwise leaves your game files alone (and logs a warning). After a game update it will therefore do nothing until the mod is updated.
- Client-side only.
- If sounds seem unchanged on the very first launch, restart the game once.
- Restore the original sounds: set
Enabled = falseinUserData/MelonPreferences.cfgunder[GunSoundSwap], then start the game once. Do this BEFORE uninstalling the mod, since removing the mod alone does not revert the bank. Steam's "Verify integrity of game files" also restores it.
Requires MelonLoader.
Sound content is taken from other games/media; use at your own risk.
