TTS-Company — Fixed Fork
A fixed fork of TTS-Company, the text-to-speech library mod for Lethal Company. The original project integrates the lightweight, local Piper TTS engine, allowing compatible mods to generate speech offline on the player's machine.
All players in the lobby must have TTS-Company installed. Players missing the mod will not hear generated text-to-speech audio.
Marked as
AI-Generatedbecause the mod produces AI-generated text-to-speech audio.
About this fork
This fork preserves the original mod's purpose while adding a critical compatibility fix. It also includes custom voices used by my own Verity mod.
- Critical fix: Fixes file structure to address an issue affecting the original mod.
- Custom voices: Includes additional voices for use with my Verity mod.
- Minor manifest fix: Includes a small correction to the Thunderstore
manifest.json. - No other intentional changes: Aside from the critical fix and the custom voices, this fork is intended to remain the same as the original.
Recommendation: If you use the original TTS-Company and are affected by the issue fixed here, use this fixed fork instead. It is intended as a drop-in replacement; avoid installing the original and this fork together.

What it does
- Provides an API for other mods to generate local, low-latency text-to-speech audio.
- Starts, manages, and prepares the background Piper process for audio requests.
- Uses Piper TTS to generate speech locally without relying on external web APIs.
- Caches generated voice lines to reduce processing overhead for recurring phrases.
- Allows developers to pre-generate selected lines for fast playback when needed.
What it doesn't do
- Does nothing on its own gameplay-wise: It initializes the background process and exposes an API. It does not add chat commands, voice lines, or gameplay features unless another mod uses the library.
- Does not send synthesis requests to external servers: Speech synthesis is performed locally.
