BetterServerScrolling
BetterServerScrolling is a small Lethal Company v81 quality-of-life mod that fixes the public server browser's scroll bounds and mouse-wheel behavior.
The problem
The vanilla server browser places server entries manually, but its scrollable content can remain much taller than the servers actually displayed.
That can make the scrollbar appear when the list does not need to scroll, allow scrolling far below the last server into empty space, and make mouse-wheel scrolling jump too far at a time.
What it changes
- Sizes the server-list content to the server rows that are actually visible.
- Updates the scroll bounds while the server list is being populated.
- Hides the scrollbar when the current server list fits inside the visible area.
- Enables the scrollbar as soon as the list becomes tall enough to scroll.
- Clamps scrolling to the real top and bottom of the server list.
- Removes elastic overscroll and snap-back at the ends of the list.
- Normalizes mouse-wheel input so one wheel step scrolls 1.5 server rows.
- Resets the server list to the top when it refreshes.
What it does not change
- It does not change which servers Steam returns.
- It does not filter or reorder servers.
- It does not change server join behavior.
- It does not change networking or connection approval.
Multiplayer
BetterServerScrolling is a client-side UI mod.
- Install it only on players who want the corrected server-browser scrolling behavior.
- The host does not need BetterServerScrolling installed.
- Other players do not need BetterServerScrolling installed.
Installation
Install with r2modman / Thunderstore Mod Manager, or place the DLL in BepInEx/plugins for a manual installation.
Compatibility
BetterServerScrolling targets Lethal Company v81 and only changes the public server browser's scrolling behavior.
It patches three narrow points:
SteamLobbyManager.LoadServerList: resets the server-list scroll state before a refresh.SteamLobbyManager.loadLobbyListAndFilter: updates the server-list bounds as server rows are populated.ScrollRect.OnScroll: normalizes mouse-wheel input only for the matched server-listScrollRect.
