Captain's Hat
Version 0.2.0 — for Lethal Company v81
A worn captain's hat from another time. It was found on a distant moon, and appears to possess some kind of cloaking power.
Buy Captain's hat from the terminal store for 100 credits, then carry it in a normal inventory slot or the utility slot. It works while selected or pocketed, anywhere on the map. No activation is needed.
Protection
The hat suppresses standard enemy targeting, sight checks, nearby noise detection, and standard enemy contact checks. Masked enemies abandon protected targets when they are not already in a kill animation. A HUD indicator shows when protection is active.
Dropping the last hat removes protection. A hat stored inside a belt bag or another container does not protect you.
This is not god mode or visual invisibility. Other players can still see you. Falls, drowning, mines, turrets, and other hazards can still hurt you. Modded enemies that bypass the patched game checks may still affect you.
Installation
The host and every client need the same version, BepInExPack, and LethalLib 1.2.0 or newer.
Install with your mod manager, or copy the ZIP's CaptainsHat folder into BepInEx/plugins in your game or mod manager profile folder, then restart.
Troubleshooting
Check BepInEx/LogOutput.log for Captain's hat protection ON and the reported inventory or utility slot. If protection fails, provide the host's and affected client's logs and the enemy involved.
