⚠️ Before you install: turn off these mods ⚠️

Lost City doesn't work together with other mods that change the map. If any of these are switched on, Lost City quietly turns itself off: you get the normal jungle, and nothing from Lost City happens (F6 does nothing, for example).

Watch out for PLL Library: mod managers install it automatically along with some other mods, and it stays on even after you disable the mod that brought it. Check your list of installed mods for it.

How to turn a mod off in r2modman: go to Installed, click the mod and choose Disable. Then restart the game.

A new city is built every day. Each one should have a way up to the next campfire, but we can't test them all.

Lost City

The second biome becomes a drowned city. Instead of the Tropics or the Roots, you climb through a flooded, overgrown ruin full of towers and find your way up to the next campfire. There's no marked path: look around, try things, and use your items.

Every day has its own city, and everyone playing that day gets the same one.

Good to know

• Mind the water. You can't swim in PEAK, so you hold your breath under water. A blue bar above your stamina bar shows how much air you have left.
• Missile alerts replace the normal weather here. When your phone rings, get inside a building, fast.
• Not everything is as sturdy as it looks.
• A new item: the zipline shooter. You'll only find it in the city's suitcases. To ride its cable, press interact on it; press interact again (or jump) to let go.
• Hungry? Some floors have a vending machine. Hold the interact button to get a snack (now and then a bandage).
• Check the roofs. Every roof has two or three suitcases.
• Playing Ascent 8 or higher? The amulet statue stands on the roof of one of the first buildings.

How to install

1. Install r2modman or the Thunderstore Mod Manager and pick PEAK.
2. Search for Lost City and click Install.
3. Make sure none of the mods at the top of this page are switched on.
4. Click Start modded.

Playing with friends

• Everyone needs Lost City, in the same version. A player without it would see the normal jungle instead. If someone is missing the mod or has a different version, a yellow warning shows up at the top of everyone's screen.
• The host's settings count for everyone. Nobody else has to change anything.
• If the host doesn't have the mod, everyone plays the normal jungle.
• F6 (host only) brings everyone to the last campfire on the beach, right before the city. Use it to skip the beach or to gather the group.

Settings

You can change these in your mod manager. In r2modman: Config editor → Tobeyyy.LostCity → Edit config. When you play with friends, only the host's settings count.

• Turn the city off: General → Enabled
• No missile alerts: Missiles → Enabled
• Normal rain and wind instead of missile alerts: Weather → SlotStorms
• Turn off drowning: Water → Drowning
• Turn off the F6 key: Host → F6WarpToShoreCampfire
• City sounds louder or quieter: Sound → AmbienceVolume

There are more settings in the file. Each one has a short explanation next to it.

Known issues

• Some thin ledges are hard to stand on, so you might slide off.
• Inside the buildings it's brighter than you'd expect.
• Loading the island takes a few seconds longer while the city is built.
• Playing with friends hasn't been tested as much as playing alone.
• Lost City hasn't been tested much with other mods.
