README

Modlist-patchpack

Author: ByteSizeMetal

Optional compatibility fixes for modded R.E.P.O., with a separate configuration switch for each supported source mod. Patches activate only when the relevant mod and supported incompatibility are detected. Content mods are not bundled or installed automatically.

Included fixes

Source mod Configuration switch under [Mods] Compatibility fixes
SillyValuables SillyValuables Older game APIs, obsolete melee network observations, missing light/health-mesh references and exception-log forwarding
MoreUpgrades MoreUpgrades Legacy input calls, current shop filtering/pricing and duplicate manager lifecycle
KeybindLib KeybindLib Current keyboard/controller input initialization without replacing saved native bindings
SteampunkItems SteampunkItems Obsolete melee observations and legacy movement API calls
MinecraftStrongholdLevel MinecraftStrongholdLevel Diamond Sword/melee observations and the minecart's missing optional value display
REPOPresents REPOPresents Registration/spawn APIs and lazy current valuable pools; resolve only selected replacements
Extra Battle Upgrades DarkSpider90.ExtraBattleUpgrades Legacy Panic Response movement API calls; already-updated calls remain unchanged
JNL_Assist HERO.JNL_Assist Legacy movement API calls
Wesley's Enemies WesleysEnemies Legacy Voodoo movement API calls
Neofeng's Valorant weapons ValorantWeapons Unsupported glow-animation targets, retaining weapon models/materials
Dandy's World Items DandysWorldItems Missing uranium-loop audio sources, retaining native radiation behavior
MelanieMelicious's levels MelanieLevels Keep Mel Mausoleum out of selection while its required entrance references are missing; valid updated content passes through
ALL Shop Items spawn in Level AllShopItemsInLevel Use registered item prefab paths for multiplayer spawns, including aliases and bundles
REPOLib REPOLib Explain duplicate valuable-name registrations as warnings; keep the original first-registration/skip behavior

Additional identifiable REPOLib SDK content sources receive individual switches keyed by their plugin GUID. Their supported prefab audits remove only obsolete melee observations, repair verified visual references, and handle missing optional cart displays. Unknown or ambiguous sources are skipped. Asset-only packages are identified by their actual bundle path and manifest.

No items or models are removed by the melee/visual repairs. The Mel Mausoleum guard does temporarily exclude that incomplete map; it does not rebuild the map. No RPG-specific fixes are included. Genuine missing content, unrelated exceptions and unsupported asset layouts remain visible.

Installation

Install through a Thunderstore-compatible mod manager, or extract the package into the game/profile folder while the game is closed. Both DLLs are required:

BepInEx/patchers/ValuablesPatchpack/ValuablesPatchpack.Preloader.dll
BepInEx/plugins/ValuablesPatchpack/ValuablesPatchpack.dll

Replace the previous Modlist-patchpack package and restart normally. Keep only one active copy of each DLL. When migrating from the older SillyValuablesFix, remove its old active preloader so it does not run alongside this package. The existing internal plugin identity, DLL filenames and configuration filename are retained for migration.

Use matching patchpack and content-mod versions on the host and clients. This package requires BepInEx; every content-mod integration is optional. It has been built and checked against R.E.P.O. 0.5.0, BepInEx 5.4.23.5 and REPOLib 4.3.0 where applicable. Unsupported future API shapes are left unchanged.

Configuration

After the first launch, close the game and edit:

BepInEx/config/ValuablesPatchpack.cfg

Each [Mods] switch defaults to true. Set a source's switch to false to disable all pack fixes for that mod, then restart. It does not disable the original content mod itself, so an incompatible unpatched original may still produce errors. No comma-separated exceptions are needed for the integrations in the table.

Additional legacy melee prefab names can optionally be configured for SillyValuables and SteampunkItems; their source mod must still be detected and enabled. Routine repairs occur at initialization, without an external monitoring process or per-frame hierarchy scans.

Backups and uninstalling

Some older mod DLLs contain API references that must be adapted before they load. The preloader verifies their identities, makes byte-verified backups and replaces the adapted DLL atomically. Game assembly compatibility changes occur in memory; game files, saves and upgrade counts are not rewritten.

Backups are stored under BepInEx/cache/Modlist-patchpack, with legacy SillyValuables backups under BepInEx/cache/SillyValuablesFix and BepInEx/cache/ValuablesPatchpack. Disabling an affected module restores its original calls/helpers at the next preload, preserving unrelated changes.

Before removing this pack completely, disable its persistent compatibility modules and launch once to restore the original references, or reinstall the affected content mods. Keep both pack DLLs present until restoration is complete.

Validation and reporting issues

The compatibility code has 481 passing offline checks covering module isolation, generated API bridges, restoration, actual Harmony integration, installed method layouts and read-only asset evidence. This is not a guarantee of compatibility with every mod list. Live Unity and multiplayer confirmation is still necessary.

For an issue report, include the game/mod versions, patchpack version, relevant configuration switches and the affected player's BepInEx/LogOutput.log or Unity Player.log. A host log alone may not identify a client freeze. Do not assume that a final log line or a forwarding logger's stack frame caused a hang.
