Realistic Headphones Mod
Audio gear for your skater that reacts when you bail. Everything is in one install: the cosmetics and the plugin that moves them. headphones go to your neck on light bails and fly off on harder ones, earbuds fly off on bails and slams, airpods react the same.
What's new in 1.2.3
- Your skater bends down to pick them up. Walk or roll slowly up to your dropped AirPods or headphones and your skater crouches, grabs them off the ground and puts them back on. Friends with the mod see it too. Rolling over them fast still picks them up on the fly.
- No more AirPods falling through the ground. A dropped AirPod that ends up just under the floor is put back on top, and one being picked up is no longer knocked loose.
- AirPods sit snug in your ear. They no longer clip into the ear. They sit a little higher, with the stem angled down along the earlobe like the real thing. All colors.
- Fit them to your skater. Every head is a bit different, so you can nudge the AirPods to sit right in your skater's ears with
airpods fitin the console (see below). Your fit is saved. - Wired EarPods look like the real thing. Real EarPods buds in place of the round balls, the remote on the right cord and the real Y splitter on the chest. All colors.
- Less clipping into pants. The wired cord on your leg sits a little further out, so it clips less into baggy pants and shorts.
What's new in 1.2.1
- A smaller pop-up. When your item desyncs in a session, a small card shows at the top of the screen instead of a big box. Press F9 for "How do I fix it?" and F10 for "Later". It closes by itself after a while.
- The pop-up buttons work. "How do I fix it?" shows the steps, and "Later" stops the reminders.
- The mod never moves your skater by itself. When an item gets stuck, it only sends the item to ReSkate again. Type
airpods fixin the console if you want the quick reload.
What's new in 1.2.0
- Dropped gear is drawn as real 3D models. Loose AirPods and headphones now look like the real thing, with shading and a shadow under them, instead of flat shapes.
- They lie on slopes. Gear that lands on a ramp or bank rests along it.
- No more floating. If something under your gear moves away (your board, your body, another skater), it falls again and lands properly. AirPods settle on their side, touching the ground.
- Headphones don't go through walls. The cups and band now bump off walls, ledges and ramps.
- Everyone sees it land in the same spot. Friends with the mod see your gear settle exactly where yours did.
What's included
- AirPods: pop out of your ears on a hard bail, bounce and slide on whatever is under them, then settle. Skate over one to put it back in.
- Wired earbuds (in-ear): in several colors, with the cord run by the plugin.
- Wired earbuds (hanging): the cord hangs down the side of your leg and swings while you skate. Available in white and other colors.
- Headphones: sit on your head (or over a beanie), get knocked down round your neck, or fly off.
Friends who have the mod see your gear fall too.
Install
Install with the ReSkate launcher, or drag the zip onto it. Allow the plugin when the game asks.
If you have the older separate mods installed (AirPods, AirPods & Wired Earbuds, Headphones, Wired Earbuds Hanging), remove them. This package already contains all of them.
All you need is the plugin
Once the plugin is enabled, it works on its own. You don't need to equip anything from the Outfit tab: the plugin puts the gear on your skater for you and swaps it when you change style or color. Your normal outfit stays as it is. IF you disre to just wear the cosmetics and not use the plug in as intended you can , for example just want to use the headhones over the beanie, just go into console type airpods off and you are free to equip the cosmetic of your choice. this would stop the slam / bail physics. just remember when you want to turn it back on unequip any item in your outfit slot then type in console airpods on and you are good to go.
Controls
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| P | Switches style, in this order: AirPods, wired earbuds, headphones on your head, headphones round your neck, then back to AirPods. You keep your color if the next style comes in it; otherwise you get white. |
| O | Changes the color of the style you're wearing. Colors that aren't installed are skipped. |
| I | Headphones only: moves them between your head and your neck. If they've been knocked off, puts them straight back on. |
The keys only work while the game window is active and chat or a text box isn't open. Your style and color are remembered next time you play.
Why the plugin asks for permissions
- outfit / skater / physics / world: lets it see what you are wearing and drop or put back the item.
- net.session: lets friends with the mod see your gear fall.
- ui.screen / throwdowns: shows the pop-up when the game stops showing your item in multiplayer. Your answer to that pop-up comes back through the throwdown events.
- storage: remembers your settings and the item you last wore, so it comes back after a respawn or level load.
If your item disappears in multiplayer
Sometimes your item gets stuck in a session after a respawn, a fast travel or going back to a session marker. A small card at the top of the screen tells you. The fix is to go back to San Van: press F9 to see the steps, or F10 (Later) to hide the card and stop the reminders.
