Known issues

This first release still has a few bugs, but nothing too bad.

  • Palace has uneven lighting and unusual brightness or shadows on some walls and ceilings. Lighting does not exactly match CS2, and some areas still need refinement. Please report remaining visual or gameplay issues with screenshots and the location.
  • Ladder from A-site into Palace is broken because skate. playermodel is too large. You can still climb up by vaulting on the boxes to the left.
  • If you have my other CS2 maps loaded at the same time, the sun might not be in the correct location. It doesn't affect gameplay all that much but will cause the map to look different compared to CS2.

Conversion notes

Original solid world and prop physics is imported separately from visible geometry; CS2-only clip and trigger volumes are excluded. Source texture colors, normal maps and linear roughness/metalness maps are retained. Static graffiti and overlays retain their soft opacity through wall texture baking. Source foliage wind data is corrected for static palms and other foliage. Actual lamp fixtures retain reflections; supplemental lighting avoids extra lamp reflections.

Both the Ladder Room and Palace scaffold ladders have climb helpers. Source particles, soundscapes, fan animation, breakable scripting and other scripted CS2 behavior are not ported.

Changes in 1.0.1

First release based on the playtested 0.1.4 map. The corrected sun references, Palace shadow backing, collision, textures, graffiti and CT spawn are retained. The remaining Palace lighting issues are known and will be refined in future updates.

Original map/art: Valve and the Counter-Strike 2 team. Native loading/build support: ReSkate and ReSkate Studio by Dingo Shenanigans. Internal conversion: Anton's CS2 → Skate toolkit, developed from the Nuke and Overpass conversions. Uses locally installed game assets.
