README

UES Orbital Bombardment

UES Orbital Bombardment adds a craftable equipment that calls a sustained barrage of Captain's regular orbital probes onto a targeted area. Hold your equipment button to mark the zone, then release to authorize the strikes.

Call in orbital support

  • Hold to aim: hold your equipment button, Q by default, to preview a cyan 24m radius targeting circle on the terrain.
  • Release to fire: call down 12 orbital strikes, each dealing 1200% base damage in a 7m blast radius and stunning enemies.
  • A sustained barrage: the opening shots concentrate near the center, followed by wider coverage across the marked zone.
  • Cancel without spending a charge: aim into the sky or away from a valid surface before releasing.
  • Friendly support: the bombardment excludes you and your allies, including with friendly fire enabled.

The charge is spent and the cooldown begins when a valid release authorizes the barrage. The controls follow your configured equipment key or controller binding.

Crafting

At Wandering CHEF, combine:

1 Disposable Missile Launcher + 1 Fuel Cell → 1 UES Orbital Bombardment

Both ingredients are consumed. The result is a reusable equipment that occupies your equipment slot.

You can also find the finished equipment as a rare equipment drop, or select it through Artifact of Command. In standard weighted drop tables, it has one tenth the selection weight of an ordinary equipment; this is a relative weight, not a flat 10% drop chance.

CHEF crafting requires Alloyed Collective. ChefBazaar is optional and provides its usual additional access to CHEF.

Equipment stats

Property Value
Cooldown 120 seconds
Orbital strikes 12
Targeting radius 24m
Maximum targeting range 200m
Damage per strike 1200% base damage
Blast radius per strike 7m
Launch sequence 5.5 seconds
Warning before each impact 2 seconds
Proc coefficient 1.0
Additional effect Stuns enemies

The last impact lands approximately 7.5 seconds after authorization. Each strike rolls critical damage independently. These are separate blasts spread across the area; a single target will not necessarily be hit by every strike.

Strike positions over missing or steep terrain are skipped. Dying or changing stages stops strikes that have not yet launched.

UES targeting radio

The equipment reuses The Back-up's radio, with an ivory housing, navy controls, cyan accents, and a display reading UES / ORBITAL / LINK READY. Matching visuals appear in its pickup, equipment icon, logbook model, and supported survivor equipment displays.

Includes its own logbook entry.

Equipment interactions and multiplayer

  • Fuel Cells and equipment cooldown effects use the normal equipment system.
  • Gesture of the Drowned and automatic activations fire at your current valid terrain aim without requiring a manual hold.
  • The equipment is excluded from Bottled Chaos's random equipment activations.
  • All multiplayer participants need the same mod version. Remote multiplayer still needs further playtesting.
