README

NotModMenu

A mod list and settings screen for Risk of Rain 2, in the spirit of Minecraft's Mod Menu. Press Mods in the main menu or the pause menu to see everything you have installed and change any mod's settings without leaving the game or digging through .cfg files.

Features

  • Mods button right under Settings, in both the main menu and the pause menu. It is the game's own button, so it looks and sounds like the rest of the menu. You can also press F6 anywhere; during a run it opens the pause menu first.
  • Every loaded mod with its icon, version, author and description, read from the mod's Thunderstore package.
  • Search, plus filters to show only mods that have settings, and to hide libraries (mods that other mods require, such as the R2API modules). Libraries still show up when you search.
  • Edit settings in-game for any mod that uses BepInEx config:
    • on/off switches, sliders for numbers with a range, arrows for choices,
    • key binding capture (click, then press the key or combination),
    • colour fields with a preview, and a text field for everything else,
    • Reset per setting, a settings filter, and collapsible sections for mods with a lot of settings.
  • Shows which mods a mod requires and which mods require it.
  • Quick buttons for the mod's website, its Thunderstore page, its install folder and its config file.
  • The game itself and BepInEx (with BepInEx.cfg) are listed too.
  • Respects the ConfigurationManagerAttributes many mods already ship: hidden settings stay hidden, read-only settings can't be edited, and custom display names and ordering are used.

Changes are written to the config files when you close the menu or switch to another mod. Whether a change applies straight away depends on the mod: many mods only read their settings when the game starts, so restart if something doesn't seem to change.

Usage

Open Mods button in the main or pause menu, or F6
Close Done, X, Esc or F6
Rebind a key click the key field, press the new key (hold Shift/Ctrl/Alt for a combination), Esc cancels
Typing in a field numbers accept both 0.5 and 0,5; invalid values turn red and aren't saved

Configuration

BepInEx/config/com.NotTerra.NotModMenu.cfg, or from the menu itself (NotModMenu is in the list):

Setting Default Description
Open key F6 Opens or closes the menu. During a run it opens the pause menu first.
Main menu button true Show the Mods button in the main menu.
Pause menu button true Show the Mods button in the pause menu.
Show libraries false List library mods too.
Scale 1 Size of the menu, from 0.6 to 1.6. It already scales with your screen resolution.

Compatibility

  • Client-side only. NotModMenu adds no content and sends nothing over the network, so it doesn't matter whether other players have it.
  • Works next to Risk Of Options, InLobbyConfig and similar mods; it edits the same config entries they do.
  • Only needs BepInEx, no R2API.

Known limitations

  • Mouse and keyboard only; the menu can't be navigated with a controller yet.
  • Settings are found through each mod's plugin class. If a mod keeps an extra config file in some other class, those settings won't be listed.

Feedback

Found a bug or a mod whose settings look wrong? Please report it on the Thunderstore page with your BepInEx/LogOutput.log attached.
