README

Eclipse Skins — experimental playtest 0.1.0

29 individually selectable, unlocked skin drafts across eight survivors, including Acrid’s Bog Hopper frog. This is a playtest release with known visual defects, unfinished art and unverified runtime behavior. It is not a finished-quality release.

Install through a compatible Thunderstore mod manager, then select the skin under the survivor’s Loadout > Skin menu. No Eclipse completion or save edits are required. Each skin keeps its own identity; future updates add or improve individual skins without waiting for a complete set.

The table identifies the actual packaged revisions. Newer un-packaged modeling experiments are not included. Void Fiend and other concept-only or adapter-incomplete skins will arrive when technically ready.

Known limitations

  • Bog Hopper/frog M018: eye/brow shape remains unfinished. Slash, FireSpit, Bite and Run may show folds or buried limb regions. Body and spine replacements are cosmetic; native attack/effect attachments remain. Actual registration, Animator/IK, shader response and skin-switch restoration still need testing.
  • REX Prickly Customer uses unfinished flat palette materials and experimental cosmetic leg motion; burrow/terrain/effect alignment remain unverified.
  • Other drafts retain open art, weapon, clipping, turret/alternate-mode, shader and animation findings. MUL-T Yard Salvager intentionally retains stock Power Mode cannons as a pilot exception.
  • Existing offline mesh checks, compilation and scoped historical user feedback do not establish that every skin works in the current game. Current combined registration, skills, all loadouts, respawn, item attachments, performance and multiplayer are untested.

Avoid duplicate development plugins

If you already installed an earlier development copy of one of these same Eclipse skin plugins, disable the duplicate copy in your test profile before enabling this package. Stable plugin GUIDs are deliberately retained. The old independent Commando Collection is a different mod and is not bundled or overwritten here.

Useful first test

Check the lobby preview, stock → custom → stock switching, movement/jumping, repeated skills with both loadouts, death/respawn and representative items. For the frog, also check spines returning on the stock skin. Report package 0.1.0, the skin name, action/loadout, screenshot or clip, and relevant BepInEx log lines. Frog markers include ACRID_E1_REGISTERED, ACRID_E1_PART_READY and ACRID_E1_REGISTRATION_FAILED.

Only authored runtime plugins, meshes, textures and public documentation are included. Game assemblies, editable scenes and private development records are excluded. Dependencies are installed by your mod manager. No game or profile changes are performed merely by viewing or downloading this page.

CHANGELOG

0.1.4

  • Replace duck primary pecks with forward alternating wing attacks and a double-wing finisher.
  • Correct excessive duck cadence; reduce walk/sprint sway and smooth visual air/landing transitions.
  • Add actor-owned cosmetic utility fist-effect suppression without changing damage, projectiles, acid pools or native cleanup.
  • Require separately published Eclipse AdvancedSkins 0.1.1; no duplicate API DLL bundled.
  • Preserve all 30 skins, native slot registration, approved duck geometry and 25 unaffected clips.
  • Duck audio, footstep synchronization, equipment fitting and native gameplay validation remain open.

0.1.3

  • Fix Duck and Cover native bone-name validation for actual CrocoBody and CrocoDisplay prefabs.
  • Preserve all30 skins, appearance and motion files, native gameplay and API dependency0.1.0.
  • Offline prefab contract verified. In-game confirmation, duck audio/effects and equipment fit remain pending.

0.1.2

  • Requires the separately published Eclipse AdvancedSkins 0.1.0 library; mod managers install it automatically.

  • Added Acrid — Duck and Cover as an unlocked playtest skin, preserving the current duck appearance.

  • Replaced all three duck primary wing attacks with forward head pecks and a stronger third hit.

  • Added the custom duck visual rig and animation runtime. Native gameplay damage and hitboxes are unchanged.

  • Preserved all 29 previously published skins and their runtime files.

  • Known duck limitations: native attack effects and sounds remain, item/equipment placement is not calibrated, and native/gameplay validation is pending.

0.1.1

  • Clarified that all skins are unlocked for testing; Eclipse unlocks are not implemented.
  • Added progress and remaining-work documentation. Runtime files unchanged from 0.1.0.
