BepInEx pack for IL2CPP x64 Unity games. Preconfigured and ready to use.

Preferred version: 6.0.788

README

SOULSTONE COOP 1.5.0 - local co-op for Soulstone Survivors (2 to 4 players on the same PC)

RECOMMENDED: PLAY WITH 2 PLAYERS

  • With 2 players everything is ready: split screen, damage numbers and crosshairs in each player's color.
  • 3 and 4 players work, but we are still optimizing performance: with many enemies the game can get heavy. With 3 and 4 the default camera is the "leash" (one shared screen), the lightest.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Windows, with Soulstone Survivors from Steam (tested on game version 1.5d2).
  • BepInEx 6 (IL2CPP), build be.791. It is already included in the package: you don't need to download it.
  • Internet on the FIRST game launch after installing: BepInEx downloads the Unity libraries and prepares its files. That first launch takes 1 to 3 minutes on a frozen screen. This is normal.
  • One controller per extra player. Keyboard and mouse count as one player (only one keyboard per PC).

WHICH FILE TO USE

  • Only the full package (mod + the right BepInEx). Use it to install and also to update the mod: extract it over the game folder and overwrite everything. Your settings are kept.

DO NOT UPDATE BEPINEX YOURSELF

  • Soulstone Survivors is an IL2CPP game and only works with BepInEx 6 IL2CPP, the version in this package.
  • The version on the BepInEx GitHub releases page (5.4) is for Unity "Mono" games and NEVER works with this game: installed over the mod, the game starts without loading any mod.
  • Newer BepInEx 6 test builds can change things inside and break the mod. When a newer one is safe, it will come in a new version of the mod.
  • Mod gone after changing BepInEx? Extract the full package again over the game folder, overwriting everything.

HOW TO INSTALL

  1. In Steam: right-click Soulstone Survivors > Manage > Browse local files. This opens the game folder (where "Soulstone Survivors.exe" is).
  2. Extract ALL the contents of the zip INTO that folder, keeping the folders. When done, these must exist next to "Soulstone Survivors.exe": winhttp.dll doorstop_config.ini .doorstop_version dotnet\ (folder) BepInEx\core\ (folder) BepInEx\plugins\SoulstoneCoop.dll
  3. Start the game from Steam as usual and wait for the first launch to finish.

HOW TO PLAY

  • On the main menu, open the "Co-op" button.
  • Each player presses A on their own controller (or Enter on the keyboard) to join. The join order sets P1, P2, P3 and P4. B or Esc leaves. P1 confirms with START (or Enter, if on the keyboard).
  • Each player picks their own hero on their turn. On an extra player's turn, the start button becomes "Ready".
  • To redo who joins: on the Fight tab, press B on a controller (or Backspace on the keyboard) and confirm "Back to the title screen".
  • Co-op settings are in Options > "Co-op" tab (LB/RB reach it; up/down choose, A ticks the checkbox or opens the list, left/right move the slider): camera with 2 players, camera with 3-4 players, camera zoom, low quality cameras, shared buffs, enemies on screen, difficulty and "Restore recommended". Each row's (?) explains it.

ADVANCED SETTINGS (optional)

  • File: BepInEx\config\SoulstoneCoop.cfg. It is created on the first launch with the default values.
  • If you are updating from an older version you do NOT need to delete this file: new options are added by themselves, and the old elite toughness (0.5) and lord toughness (0.333) values are moved to the new defaults automatically. A value you changed by hand is left as it is. The leftover [Testing] section and ShareTitanCards option from old versions do nothing.
  • New options in 1.5.0, [Camera] section: SplitScreen and SplitStyle (camera with 2 players), CameraManyPlayers (camera with 3-4 players), SplitViewZoom (zoom) and LowQualityCameras (low quality with 3-4 players). They are all in the Co-op tab too.

WHAT'S NEW IN 1.5.0 Camera

  • Split screen! With 2 players, when you move apart the screen splits along a line that follows where each of you is, at any angle, and joins again when you come back together. Everyone stays where they were, with no jumps and no zoom change.
  • Three camera styles to choose from: leash (one shared screen), fixed split (P1 on the left) and dynamic split (default with 2 players). With 3 and 4 players the default is the leash, but both splits work too.
  • Adjustable camera zoom (default 120%), the same whether the screen is whole or split.
  • Low quality cameras (off by default; only with 3-4 players): screens without shadows and image effects, about 15% lighter.
  • Each screen shows its own health bars, icons and damage numbers, without spilling into the other screen.

Player colors (P1 blue, P2 red, P3 green, P4 pink)

  • Damage numbers in the color of whoever hit, stronger on critical hits.
  • With the game's "damage number colors" option on, effect damage (poison, burn, doom, bleed) shows in the effect's color with light stripes. With it off, it takes the color of the last player who hit that enemy.
  • Each player's crosshair in their color; the game's crosshair size applies to all of them.
  • Each player's icon on the minimap and map in their color.

Interface

  • The mod's texts in the game's 13 languages, with the game's font.
  • Skill cooldowns on each player's bottom bar.
  • On the first start with the mod, the game's Interface options go to the co-op recommended values: minimap in the corner at 70%, damage numbers on and summed, no colors by type, no health bars on regular enemies (elites keep theirs) and health overlay at 70%. You can change them afterwards in the game's settings.
  • Hero selection: a frame and a "Pn's turn" badge in the color of whoever is picking, and a hero already picked by another player is marked.
  • Co-op tab with the camera options, difficulty (1x to 1.5x; 1.05x recommended) and "Restore recommended".

Fixes

  • Titan barriers: you could get stuck outside the barrier; now each hero gets in properly. An event with a barrier only starts away from another active one, with a message on screen.
  • P1's controller crosshair starts from the hero, not from the middle of the screen.
  • The keyboard extra player's mouse no longer gets stuck near the edge of the screen.
  • In Steam Big Picture mode the game no longer stays minimized.
  • BepInEx updated to build be.791.

WHAT'S NEW IN 1.4.0 (summary)

  • Void Lords and wave elites with better balanced toughness per number of players.
  • Each player picks their own titan power card.
  • A downed player's body always stays on the ground; any player can activate the map's event circles.
  • Co-op tab in the style of the game's General menu.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • Programs that create a virtual controller (Sunshine, Parsec, DS4Windows, Steam Input in some cases) can make a physical controller show up twice. The Co-op screen accepts one controller at a time. If one controller moves two heroes, close that program or turn off its virtual controller.
  • 3 and 4 players: with many enemies the game can get heavy, more so with a split screen. We are working on it; for now we recommend 2 players, or the "leash" camera with 3-4.
  • With 3-4 players and low quality cameras, the colored circle under each hero doesn't show on players 2 to 4's screens. Turn low quality off if you want the circles (the game gets heavier).
  • Buffs a skill gives when it HITS an enemy are not shared (only the ones given when it is cast).

HOW TO UNINSTALL

  • Mod only: delete BepInEx\plugins\SoulstoneCoop.dll.
  • Everything: delete winhttp.dll, doorstop_config.ini, .doorstop_version and the BepInEx and dotnet folders from the game folder. Another option is Steam's "Verify integrity of game files" after deleting winhttp.dll.

SAFETY

  • The mod does not use the internet, opens no ports and does not touch saves. It only reads and writes its own config file and the BepInEx log.
  • Only download from people you trust: BepInEx loads any DLL placed in BepInEx\plugins.

REPORTING A PROBLEM

  • Send the file BepInEx\LogOutput.log right after closing the game (it starts over on every launch) and say what happened and how many players there were.
