This mod requires the following mods to function
BepInEx-BepInExPack
BepInEx pack for Mono Unity games. Preconfigured and ready to use.
Preferred version: 5.4.2100README
More Map Options (internally known as Stsmap) adds new options and utility features to the game's map system.
STS-Style Map Generation
Bored of the same old very consistent 4x4 section separated map in the base game? Wish the map was a little more messy and branching like Slay the Spire? Well, this mod aims to recreate an STS-like map generation to the game.
The rules of the new map are as follows:
Generates 3 to 4 distinct starting paths.
The first floor is always a normal enemy fight.
No Rest Sites (Gaps or Shops) or Elites will appear before the 4th floor.
The map is still separated in sections by landmarks (Boss Select, Reisen's Cache, Trade events). However, unlike the base game, the map doesn't force paths to converge upon them. Instead, they are copied across multiple rows to maintain the paths' flow.
Contains 46-50 nodes in total (excluding landmark nodes).
All paths always converge into a singular Gap node right before the Boss. No other Rest Sites are allowed in the node immediately before this.
Guarantees a minimum of 3 Gaps and 3 Shops, with a combined total of 7 to 9 per map.
Elite distribution: 1-2 in the first section, 2-4 in the second section, and 2-4 in the third section.
No consecutive nodes of the same type are allowed (e.g., no back-to-back Elites or Shops), with the exception of Events and Normal Fights.
No crossing (X-shaped) path connections.
The remaining unassigned nodes are split between 40% Events and 60% Fights.
Route Highlighting
You can now Right-Click any node on the map to highlight it with a yellow circle. This feature works regardless of the map type you choose. Planning your paths should be easier now.
New Jadebox 🟩: Fog of War
This new Jadebox hides all nodes whose distance from the player is more than 2 floors away. You will only be able see what's directly in front of you.
Configurable:
The vision length, as well as whether the act Boss is hidden, can be adjusted in the BepInEx configs at valon.misc.StsMap Note: The Act 1 Boss will still be known to the player due to the vanilla event that lets you select it. Event modding is still difficult for me to change this for now. Sorry! Maybe just close your eyes when selecting random boss.
If you find any bugs or strange map generation behaviour, please let me know! If possible, also provide the seed of that run. You can contact me at @Nolavthe on discord.
