Rome's Tweaks Mod
A lightweight Valheim mod that provides a collection of configurable quality-of-life and balance tweaks.
I made this mod for me and my friends initially, but you can now use it too.
Each major feature can be enabled or disabled individually through the BepInEx configuration file.
Features
Faster Production
Allows you to customize the behavior of several production stations.
Currently supported stations include:
- Charcoal Kiln
- Smelter
- Windmill
- Blast Furnace
For each station, the mod can modify values such as:
- Maximum fuel capacity
- Maximum input capacity
- Fuel consumed per product
- Production time per item
This makes it possible to speed up resource processing and increase station capacity without changing the recipes themselves.
Building Cost Tweaks
Allows you to reduce or customize the material cost of selected building pieces.
The mod currently includes support for several building categories.
Stone
Supported pieces include:
- Stone walls
- Stone floors
- Stone arches
- Stone pillars
- Stone stairs
Each supported stone piece can have its construction cost customized.
Iron
Supported pieces include:
- Iron floors
- Iron walls
- Iron gates / grates
Their iron cost can be adjusted independently.
Black Marble
Supports a variety of Black Marble building pieces, including:
- Walls and blocks
- Floors
- Stairs
- Columns
- Arches
- Decorative pieces
Each supported piece can have its Black Marble cost adjusted.
Grausten
Supports a large selection of Grausten construction pieces, including:
- Floors
- Walls
- Windows
- Pillars
- Arches
- Stairs
- Roof pieces
The current implementation uses a shared configurable Grausten cost for the supported pieces.
Disable Skill Loss on Death
Valheim normally reduces your skill levels when your character dies.
When this option is enabled, the mod prevents the skill-loss mechanic from being applied.
You will still die normally and keep the rest of Valheim's death mechanics, but your skills will not be reduced.
Skill XP Requirement Multiplier
Allows you to modify how much XP is required to increase skill levels.
Instead of replacing Valheim's progression curve, this option applies a multiplier to the vanilla XP requirement.
Examples:
1.0= Vanilla XP requirements0.75= 75% of the normal XP required0.5= 50% of the normal XP required0.2= 20% of the normal XP required2.0= Twice the normal XP required
This keeps Valheim's original skill progression curve while allowing you to make skill leveling faster or slower.
This feature can be enabled or disabled independently through the BepInEx configuration file.
Disable Food Stat Decay
Food bonuses in Valheim normally become weaker over time.
When this option is enabled, the Health, Stamina and Eitr bonuses provided by active food are kept at their full values instead of gradually decreasing.
Food duration itself is not changed; the tweak only prevents the stat bonuses from degrading while the food is active.
Configuration
Rome's Tweaks Mod uses the standard BepInEx configuration system.
After launching the game with the mod installed, the configuration file will be generated inside:
