denikson-BepInExPack_Valheim
BepInEx pack for Valheim. Preconfigured with the correct entry point for mods and preferred defaults for the community.

Pack and Place
Build it once. Pack it. Take it with you.
Pack and Place lets you turn already-built Valheim structures into inventory items, carry them to a new location, and place them again without hauling a separate pile of building materials.
Heading out to explore? Pack a portal before you leave. When you need a way home, place the packed portal instead of hunting through your inventory for every ingredient. Looking at you, portals.
By ArcByte Software · Version 0.5.10
What it does
- Packs an eligible placed structure into a portable inventory item.
- Uses the packed item when placing that structure again, without loose materials or a workbench for the packed placement.
- Preserves supported structure state and stored contents through the mod's state adapters.
- Shows package details and salvage refunds with Ctrl + right-click.
- Offers configurable material weight, contents weight, and salvage material returns.
Packing moves the existing structure into a package. Placing it consumes the package. This is relocation of individual supported pieces, not a whole-base blueprint or a source of free duplicate structures.
Installation
Mod manager
Install PackAndPlace using Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman. The BepInEx dependency will be installed automatically. Launch Valheim through your mod manager.
Manual
- Install BepInExPack Valheim.
- Copy
BepInEx/plugins/PackAndPlace/ArcByte.PackAndPlace.dllfrom this archive into the same path inside your Valheim installation. - Launch the game once to generate the configuration file.
Multiplayer
Install PackAndPlace 0.5.10 on the server/host and every client. Registered adapter IDs, versions, and component types must also match. Use the same weight settings on all peers.
How to use
Pack a structure
- Hold your hammer or the appropriate building tool.
- Aim at a structure you built and stand within reach.
- Leave at least one inventory slot free.
- Press Left Alt + P, the default packing shortcut.
- Pick up the resulting package if it lands on the ground.
Ownership, ward access, and structure-specific safety checks still apply. Close storage and other interaction panels before packing. Occupied, moving, busy, or unsupported structures may need attention before they can be packed; follow the on-screen message.
Place it again
- Keep the package and the appropriate building tool in your inventory.
- Use the package or drag it out of your inventory to select placement with the hammer.
- Aim, rotate, and place the structure using the normal building controls.
The building tool must be usable, and the structure must be available in its build menu. A packed placement uses one matching package instead of loose building materials. Right-click selects another piece.
Inspect or salvage
Ctrl + right-click a package to view its details and salvage refund preview. Salvage processes one package at a time; refunds drop nearby. Supported stored contents are returned in full, separately from the configured percentage of base building materials.
Configuration
After the first launch, edit:
BepInEx/config/com.arcbytesoftware.valheim.packandplace.cfg
| Section | Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Controls | PackKey | P + LeftAlt | Shortcut used while aiming with a building tool. |
| Weight | MaterialWeightPercent | 100 | Percentage of building-material weight carried by new packages; range 0–100. |
| Weight | ContentsWeightPercent | 100 | Percentage of stored-contents weight carried by new packages; range 0–100. |
| Salvage | MaterialReturnPercent | 100 | Percentage of saved base recipe materials refunded; whole quantities round down. |
| General | Confirmations | true | Requires an extra confirmation before salvaging. |
| Salvage | WorkbenchRecycling | true | Enables package entries in supported optional Recycle-tab integrations. |
Weight settings are saved into newly created packages. At the defaults, packaging does not reduce the combined material and contents weight.
Compatibility and limits
- A structure must have a supported building recipe and component layout. Not every vanilla or modded object is eligible.
- Optional integrations are not required dependencies. Keep the originating content mods installed while you have their structures packaged.
- Packages cannot be packed inside other storage packages.
- Certain linked structures or transfers have additional host/single-player restrictions. The mod reports these when packing is attempted.
- Moving a packed portal does not imply that vanilla teleportation restrictions are removed.
If packing or placement is refused, read the on-screen message and check BepInEx/LogOutput.log for details. When requesting help, include the mod version, relevant log messages, structure name, and installed mods.
Back up your world and character before first use or changes to your mod setup. Deploy stored packages before removing PackAndPlace or their originating structure mods.
