Doorbell
Put a doorbell at the entrance of your house. Visitors walk up, press E, and you know someone is at the door, even if you're mining on the other side of the map.
- Anyone can ring it, even inside your ward. Building and removing it are still protected by the ward.
- Everyone nearby hears it, coming from the doorbell's direction (3D sound).
- The owner (whoever built it) is notified anywhere, with a sound, a message ("Fulano tocou sua campainha!") and a temporary marker on their map showing which doorbell rang. Only the owner sees the marker.
- Its own model: a wooden wall plate with an iron bracket, a bronze bell and a pull rope.
- Hovering it shows whose doorbell it is.
- Anti-spam: each player can ring once every 5 seconds.
- Knocking on the door (default), a classic built-in "ding-dong", Valheim sounds (magic bells, forge) or your own
.wav/.ogg/.mp3. - English and Brazilian Portuguese.
Building it
Hammer → Furniture → Doorbell. It needs a Workbench nearby and costs 2 Wood + 1 Copper.
Installation
Every player should install the mod, because the doorbell is a new piece and players without the mod can't see it.
The server doesn't need it, but installing it there is recommended: then players without the mod (or with a different version) can't join, so everyone sees and hears the doorbells. Installing through r2modman / Thunderstore also installs the dependencies.
Configuration (per player)
In game, press F1 (Configuration Manager) and find Doorbell. Changes apply immediately.
