All notable changes to Ominous.

1.0.0

Initial release.

  • Craftable Ominous Sounder utility item, with a floating runic wisp orb that hovers over the player's shoulder.
  • Proximity-driven threat escalation: a quiet suspense bed that swells toward maximum volume at the danger threshold and decays over roughly three to four seconds, with pitch rising up to +15% as the creature closes.
  • Beacon light on the item, shifting cyan → amber → crimson, with a pulse strobe accelerating from 1.5 Hz to 7.0 Hz as threat rises.
  • Perimeter sonar ping (radar_ping.wav) when a predator first crosses the outer detection radius.
  • Smooth crossfading across dual AudioSources, routed through MusicMan.instance.m_musicMixer so the game's own Music Volume applies.
  • Vanilla exploration music ducked by a Harmony postfix on MusicMan.UpdateMusic rather than replaced.
  • Six Biome Attunement tiers — Meadows/Black Forest, Swamp/Ocean, Mountains, Plains, Mistlands, Ashlands/Deep North — gating which creatures are detected, and scaling beacon light range and radar scan radius.
  • Item tooltip reports tier, radar range, beacon aura range and a locked/unlocked marker per biome.
  • Live web editor at http://127.0.0.1:8788/: creature table, per-entry track assignment with in-browser audition, trigger distance and max volume distance sliders, and add/remove entries with no restart.
  • Four synthesized starter tracks plus the radar ping: troll_jaws.wav, wolf_stalker.wav, wraith_spectral.wav, serpent_abyss.wav, radar_ping.wav.
  • Zero-allocation creature scanning via Character.GetCharactersInRange on a configurable interval rather than per frame.
  • Creature list stored in ominous_config.json beside the plugin, so assignments are yours to keep and to edit.
