Mushoku Tensei Core

Magic, swordplay, Toki, Magic Eyes and the Mk-I Magic Armor for Valheim — a fan mod inspired by the isekai novel Mushoku Tensei.

You start at zero and there are no classes. What you practice is what you become: cast spells and your mana deepens, swing a sword and your style grows, push your body and your Toki awakens. Everything is designed to be rewarding without breaking the game.

Modules

Module What it adds Required?
MT Core Mana, Toki (battle aura), meditation, birth talent, body training, caps Yes
MT Magia 9 schools, 69 spells, staffs, grimoire, scrolls, Mk-I Magic Armor Optional
MT Espada Three sword styles (Sword God, Water God, North God), ranks, secret arts Optional
MT Paso Toki Step: near-instant dash with afterimages Optional
MT Ojos Magic Eyes: Foresight, Far Sight and Identification Optional

Features

Mana and Toki (MT Core)

  • Mana from day one: It grows the more you spend it. Meditate (H) to train it; sitting (X), fires and beds restore it much faster.
  • Birth talent: Normal, great reserve, or the rare Laplace Factor (huge mana… but your body rejects Toki).
  • Toki (levels 1–10): Awakens by training hard or surviving close calls: more health (+15 per level), stamina, mana, damage, speed, swimming and a hardened body. Falls never kill you.
  • Toki Mantle (F1): Burn mana to ignite your aura — much stronger hits, faster running and swimming, damage absorption.
  • Mining & Logging: Any hit chops and mines once your Toki is awake.
  • Real training: Sword swings (even in the air), hitting trees and rocks, fighting, running, swimming and jumping all make you stronger — blue arrows rise when your body trains, golden ones when your sword style does.
  • Toki health regeneration: Slow on its own even without food, a quarter in combat, and doubled while meditating.
  • Toki attack speed: Applies to fists, swords and any weapon, growing with your Toki level and the Mantle (fists get a little extra).
  • Adventurer's Journal (F8): A parchment book with your Chronicle, Body and Toki, Magic, Sword, a Recipe book of every mod item (Workbench first, and how to unlock the ones you don't know yet) and a Loot page that shows where every staff, scroll and grimoire drops, with its chance.

How to Awaken Toki

Toki is the aura inside your body. It does not come from magic: it comes from pushing your body.

  1. Every physical skill you train (running, jumping, swimming, weapons, blocking…) raises your Body Level. Check it with mt_status.
  2. From Body Level 12, every hard effort (training until exhausted) and every close call (surviving with very low health) can awaken your Toki. The chance grows up to 99% at Body Level 25. A rare 1% are born with it.
  3. Once awake, your Toki level (1–10) grows with Mastery (using your Toki and the Mantle) and is capped by your body: $\text{Body Level} \div 10 + 1$.

Without Toki, you can still train up to +200 stamina and reach Advanced in the sword styles. Saint and above need Toki (level 1+); King, Emperor and God need higher Toki levels and bosses.
The Laplace Factor talent can never awaken Toki.

Toki Level What you get
1 +15 health, +30 stamina, more mana; sword styles can reach Saint
4 Reflex: Toki flashes on by itself against surprise hits and falls; sword King
6 Sword Emperor (with the Goblin King defeated)
7 Natural Toki: a weak Mantle always on
8 Sword God (with the Seeker Queen defeated)
10 +150 health, +300 stamina: the peak of the body

Magic (MT Magia)

  • 9 schools: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Gravity (rare), Healing, Detox, Barrier and Summoning.
  • Channeling: Hold the click to pour mana into a spell. It drains mana fast, but power grows faster than the charge ($\times 3\text{ charge} \approx \times 5.8\text{ power}$, $\times 5 \approx \times 13$). A full charge takes several seconds and a lot of mana. A quick click casts at once; charged projectiles fly straight, travel farther and explode in an area (a circle on the ground shows the blast radius).
  • Highlights: Fireball that turns blue and purple as it charges, Absolute Zero, Chain Lightning, Eikthyr's Lightning, Tornado, Hurricane, Stone Wall and Stone Fortress (2 floors, 3 at high Earth rank; they stay forever), Earthquake, Levitation, Full Heal, Containment Seal that throws chains of light (works on bosses), summons up to a young dragon.
  • Grimoire (F9): All your spells by school, with search and a live damage estimate. Click a spell to equip it (even hidden ones), double click to equip and close, drag it onto one of the 9 favourite slots (Alt+1–9).
  • Spell visuals: The letters of the spell float around you in the color of its school while you recite or channel; fire spells with real flames, embers and smoke (a Black Sun that forms and explodes); curved wind streaks on every wind spell; blue lightning flashes; summoning circles; a rune seal for shields.
  • Persistence: Everything magic creates stays forever: walls, fortresses, rock pillars and spikes are saved in the world.
  • 14 languages: All text follows the game language (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean).
  • Protected bases: Destructive magic never damages your buildings.
  • Status resistance: Other players resist paralysis and seals according to their Toki and magic rank.

Mk-I Magic Armor

  • Forge the Helmet, Core and Greaves Mk-I, then assemble the full 2.3 m Magic Armor. It moves exactly like your character.
  • Runs on mana: Much less damage taken, more health, damage, jump and speed, fast swimming, slow health regeneration. It wears out while active and switches off without mana.
  • Mk-I Shield: Features magic disruption (cancels a projectile, with cooldown, mana cost and wear).
  • Mk-I Cannon: One-handed cannon that fires red-hot stone bullets and burns out if overused.
  • Note: Both shield and cannon are too heavy to carry alone: they can only be equipped while wearing the Mk-I Magic Armor.
  • Features heavy footsteps, camera shake and a crushing landing that damages nearby enemies.

Magic Eyes (MT Ojos)

Three eyes worn in the utility slot, up to two at once (one per eye). Each shows its icon and durability at the top right.

  • Eye of Foresight (gold): When an enemy starts an attack, a golden ghost of it performs the blow ahead of time, and the real enemy attacks slower. Costs 1 mana per foreseen hit.
  • Eye of Far Sight (pink): Hold Z to zoom $\times 4$ (mouse wheel up to $\times 12$). Drawing a bow or crossbow zooms automatically, with a rangefinder showing name and distance.
  • Eye of Identification (violet): Aim at a creature, loot, plant or ore: its health, distance, weaknesses and resistances appear on the left of your HUD, with a spinning rune circle at its feet.

Eyes wear out only when used and are repaired at their crafting station (Workbench or Forge).

Swordplay (MT Espada) and Toki Step (MT Paso)

  • Three styles: Sword God (first strike, combos), Water God (parries, counters), North God (any weapon, even bare hands).
  • Progression: Rank up by fighting well; secret arts; double hits at Emperor and triple hits at God.
  • Toki Step (F3): Near-instant dash paid with Toki.
