README

Heimfor

Adds a Heimfor Stone: a craftable stone that takes you back to your bed.

Use it, stand still for ten seconds, and you wake up wherever you last slept. It carries everything you have, including ore and metal, and can be used again after an hour.

Using It

Craft a Heimfor Stone at the workbench and keep it in your pack. Right-click it to start.

A ring of light opens at your feet and grows for ten seconds. When it closes you are at the last bed you claimed.

Claiming a bed is just pressing E on one you have built. Heimfor uses the same bed the game would respawn you at, so there is nothing extra to set up. Claim a different bed and the stone takes you there instead.

Ore And Metal

The stone carries whatever is in your pack, including ore and metal bars. A portal will not take those. The stone does not check.

Standing Still

While the stone is working, these interrupt it:

  • Moving
  • Taking damage
  • Opening your inventory, the console, or chat

An interrupted cast costs you nothing. The stone stays ready and you can start again straight away. Small shoves from waves or a boat are allowed.

The Cooldown

One hour per character, counted in real time. It keeps running while you are logged out.

Each world has its own cooldown. Carrying two stones does not help, which is why they do not stack.

Type heimfor in the console to see how long is left.

Crafting

1 Stone, 5 Greydwarf Eyes, 2 Surtling Cores and 10 Coal, at a workbench.

Console Commands

Command What it does

Installing

The server needs it too, as well as every player. The stone is a new item, and anyone without Heimfor cannot tell what a dropped one is.

Problems

"You have no bed to go back to." Press E on a bed you have built. You do not have to sleep in it.

Nothing happens after the ten seconds. The game refuses a teleport within two seconds of your last one, so this can happen right after you step out of a portal. The stone keeps trying for five seconds, then tells you, and your hour is not used.

For anything else, run heimfor probe in the console and include what it says, along with BepInEx/LogOutput.log.
