Universal Rebench
One Bench to Rule Them All.
Universal Rebench by JustinRampage puts your nearby crafting stations within reach of one convenient bench. Switch among nearby vanilla and modded crafting stations without running from table to table, while keeping the original station's crafting requirements and recipes.

Features
- One bench, many stations. Select an actual nearby crafting station from the Choose a Bench dropdown. Stations appear alphabetically, with their current levels. The search radius is configurable (15 m by default).
- Real crafting, not free crafting. The selected workstation still determines which recipes, upgrades, ingredients, and station levels are available. The Rebench does not unlock recipes or bypass progression.
- Optional automatic repairs. When enabled, opening the Rebench repairs eligible worn equipment through Valheim's native repair routine and qualifying nearby stations. Auto-repair is off by default, with a configurable per-interaction safety limit. It does not intentionally move, sort, or unequip items.
- Mouse and controller friendly. The dropdown sits below the character name in the existing crafting interface. Use the mouse or controller to select a station. Navigation works on Craft, Upgrade, and Reclaim tabs.
- Customizable looks. Black bench, Rampage Blue pelt, dark-silver chain and tools, and red mist behind the crystal. Supported tint settings are available through BepInEx; some experimental settings cannot recolor individual model parts separately.
- A little Easter egg. A tiny universal TV remote rests on the pelt. Show or hide it, and adjust its size and position, in the configuration.
- Proper interaction prompt. Displays Craft & Repair with the player's current Use key or controller binding.
Requirements
- Valheim 1.0.20 (version tested)
- BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2351 (version tested)
- Jötunn 2.30.2 (version tested)
Client-side use has been tested on a dedicated server with no server-side Rebench installation. In that test, the bench survived a server update/restart and continued working. A second modded player, an unmodded player, and installing the plugin directly on a headless dedicated server have not yet been tested. Do not assume full multiplayer compatibility beyond the verified setup.
Installation
Gale / r2modman / Thunderstore Mod Manager
Install RamUniversalRebench through your mod manager. Its declared BepInEx and Jötunn dependencies will be installed automatically. Launch Valheim modded.
If you previously installed a local Rebench test DLL, remove or disable it first. Do not load multiple copies with the same BepInEx plugin ID justinrampage.universalrebench.

Notes and compatibility
- Craft Filter + Mod Labels is optional and remains an independent mod. Compatibility with the tested version is included, but Rebench does not require it.
- The dropdown routes to real nearby crafting stations, including supported stations from other mods; available stations depend on what is built nearby.
- The bench's blue pelt and silver metal use recoloring of a cloned Artisan Table at runtime. No modified copies of Valheim's original textures are included in this package.
- The miniature remote is a static decorative mesh assembled at runtime. It has no gameplay interactions or physics.
- Some older/experimental options such as
GemLiquidHex,ChainHex, andToolsHexmay appear in an existing config but do not independently recolor those details in this version. - Auto-repair has been tested in a modded inventory setup without moving or unequipping items, but back up your character before trying it with unfamiliar inventory or repair mods.
- Dedicated-server persistence was confirmed for one server update and restart with one modded client; other multiplayer configurations still need testing.

CHANGELOG
Changelog
1.0.3 — Native Header Dropdown and Inventory UI Compatibility
- Fix missing bench selector without AzuEPI. No longer require AzuExtendedPlayerInventory's character-name caption; anchor the selector to Valheim's existing crafting-station name instead.
- Replace the default station name with a wide header dropdown displaying the actual selected station and level, e.g.
FORGE - LVL 8. Use uppercase, regular-weight text (18-point selected label and 16-point expanded options). - Keep the station icon, level star, Craft/Upgrade/Reclaim controls, and the rest of the crafting interface in place. Restore the original station-name text when the Rebench closes.
- Show real nearby stations in alphabetical order by name, not level, with each station's actual upgrade level. No layout-specific positioning offsets are needed in the tested inventory UIs.
- Preserve mouse and controller selection, supported station recipes/requirements, Reclaim, and native optional auto-repair.
- Compatibility tested: vanilla inventory; ExtraSlots 1.2.21; AzuExtendedPlayerInventory 2.6.4; and a heavily modded game alongside RamCraftFilterModLabels 0.3.21. Tests included 14 nearby stations, crafting, upgrading, reclaiming, automatic repairs, and controller navigation.
- No changes to the Rebench model, visuals, 6/6/6 construction recipe, or station routing. Rebench remains usable client-side on the tested dedicated server without server-side installation.
1.0.2 — Selector Startup and Cosmetic Lookup Cleanup
- Avoided a misleading warning when AzuExtendedPlayerInventory's character-name caption is briefly unavailable as the crafting menu opens.
- Still waits for the actual center character-name caption and never places the selector on the top banner. If the anchor stays missing for two seconds, logs one warning while safe retries continue.
- Extended the optional
TearChanal_d/TearChannel_dlookup to search all material texture slots on the cloned Rebench (rather than only_MainTex). If that texture is absent, preserve the existing crystal/liquid appearance and log a normal informational message instead of a misleading warning. - No changes to station switching, crafting, upgrades, reclaim, controller support, auto-repair, build cost, established body/pelt/metal/mist colors, or previously placed benches.
1.0.1 — The 6/6/6 Rampage Recipe
- Changed Universal Rebench construction materials to 6 Fine Wood, 6 Greydwarf Eyes, and 6 Surtling Cores.
- Still built with the Hammer, with a regular Workbench nearby.
- No changes to crafting-station routing, recipes, UI/controller handling, appearance, decorative remote, or auto-repair.
- Existing placed benches use the same prefab name and should remain intact; confirm this during in-game testing.
1.0.0 — Initial public release candidate
- Consolidated nearby vanilla and modded crafting stations under a single bench, preserving real station levels, requirements and recipes.
- Implemented the mouse/controller station selector below the character name, compatible with the optional Craft Filter + Mod Labels interface.
- Added configurable, opt-in native auto-repair for eligible worn gear without inventory rearrangement.
- Added the Rampaged Reality appearance: black body, blue pelt, dark-silver metal and red crystal mist.
- Added a configurable decorative miniature TV remote on the pelt.
- Set the tested remote position as the default: X
-0.25, Y-0.51, Z1, Scale1. - Updated the interaction prompt to display the current Use button and Craft & Repair.
- Verified on one dedicated server without installing the plugin server-side; the placed bench survived server update/restart and remained functional on the original modded client.
- Second-client multiplayer behavior and optional server-side deployment remain unverified.
