README

ModTree

A full-screen progression tree for your whole modpack. Open it with the Progression Tree button above the inventory.

What it shows

  • Branches (columns): Weapons, Magic, Armor, Capes, Trinkets, Food and Potions — from the base game and from every mod that adds items. Recipes are read from the game itself, so newly installed mods show up automatically.
  • Stations (nodes): Workbench, Forge, Black Forge, modded crafting tables, cauldron, fermenter, cooking stations and so on, ordered by era (based on the materials needed to build the station). Each branch ends with Other sources: items that have no recipe (drops, traders). Bombs and staffs made at alchemy or magic tables are listed under Potions / Magic rather than Weapons.
  • Every station shows a discovered / total counter; completed stations turn green.

Station list

Click a node, or pick a station from the station search list in the bottom-left corner — the map jumps to it and highlights it. The panel on the right lists the station's items in two collapsible groups: Discovered and Undiscovered.

  • Items are sorted from weakest to strongest: first by era (from the materials), then armor before shields, then by stats (damage, armor, block, food values). Sets stay together (helmet, chest, legs, pauldrons), including sets without a set bonus such as vanilla Iron.
  • Refinement Forge upgrade materials (protection idols) are not listed as crafting ingredients.
  • The name and recipe are always visible, even without the materials. Ingredients you have not found yet are shown in red.
  • An item is fully discovered once you know every ingredient. Only then are its icon and stats shown; before that the icon is hidden behind a "?" and the stats are hidden.

Drag the map with the mouse or use the scrollbars (drag the handle or click the track); the mouse wheel scrolls up and down smoothly (Shift + wheel: sideways). While the tree is open the game world is not rendered, which keeps the window smooth (config: Wydajnosc / Ukryj swiat przy otwartym drzewku). Esc or Tab closes the tree. The mod only reads game data and changes nothing, so it does not conflict with other mods.

CHANGELOG

Changelog

1.2.1

  • Fixed stations on the tree and items in the station list only appearing near the top-left corner or after scrolling (the off-screen culling added in 1.2.0 is removed; the scroll mask already skips hidden elements).
  • Scrollbar handles reworked so they are always drawn; the first open writes scrollbar sizes to the log for troubleshooting.

1.2.0

  • New branches: Capes and Trinkets (pauldrons that belong to an armor set stay in Armor).
  • Fixed Refinement Forge upgrade materials (protection idols) showing up as crafting ingredients and pushing items into the wrong era.
  • Sorting from weakest to strongest is now by era first, then armor before shields, then stats, so early shields no longer end up after black metal armor.
  • Armor sets without a set bonus (e.g. vanilla Iron, Southsil Battleswine) are kept together, in the order helmet, chest, legs, pauldrons.
  • Bombs and staffs from alchemy/magic tables (potion cauldrons, wizard tables...) are no longer listed under Weapons.
  • "Other sources" no longer repeats items that already have a recipe (duplicated vanilla staffs); items there count as discovered only once you have picked them up.
  • Scrollbars have a visible, draggable handle; clicking the track jumps there.
  • Smooth mouse-wheel scrolling; rows and stations outside the view are skipped while scrolling, and the game world is not rendered while the tree is open (configurable) for a much higher frame rate.
  • Branch header: the discovered counter sits right under the branch name; section headers are centered.

1.1.0

  • Interface is now in English.
  • Always-visible scrollbars: vertical and horizontal on the tree map, vertical on the station list and the search list.
  • Mouse wheel scrolls at a normal speed (fixed step per notch); Shift + wheel scrolls the map sideways.
  • Hover highlight on stations, rows and buttons, and a hand cursor over clickable elements.
  • Much smoother scrolling and dragging: the map and the list use their own canvases and long texts no longer carry an outline effect.
  • Fixed tooltip lines using <size=..%> (e.g. from NameThis) showing as huge text.

1.0.1

  • Fixed the tree window collapsing to nothing (only the buttons were visible), so stations and recipes now show.
  • Station search moved to the bottom-left corner of the window; the list opens upwards.

1.0.0

  • Initial release: full-screen progression tree opened from the inventory, five branches (weapons, magic, armor, food, potions), crafting stations ordered by era, station search, discovered/undiscovered lists, stat-based sorting with sets kept together, and an "Other sources" section for items without a recipe.
