README

NameThis

Adds a small line at the bottom of every item tooltip with the name of the mod that added the item — for example Southsil Armor, Epic Loot or Warfare — or Vanilla for base-game items.

How it finds the mod

There is no hardcoded list, so it also works with mods you add later:

  1. Vanilla — items that were in the game before any mod added anything.
  2. Jotunn registry — Jotunn-based mods record which mod added each item.
  3. Mod fields — e.g. the ItemManager library (used by Therzie, Southsil and others) keeps a list of its items.
  4. Asset bundles — a prefab belongs to the mod that loaded the bundle containing it.
  5. If nothing matches — Mod.

The mod name comes from its Thunderstore package (SouthsilArmor → "Southsil Armor"). The lookup is built while the world loads, so hovering items never stutters.

Configuration (BepInEx/config/local.namethis.cfg)

Wlasne nazwy modow (empty) Rename mods: GUID=Name;GUID=Name, e.g. Therzie.Warfare=Therzie Warfare.
Zrzut mapy do logu false Diagnostics: writes how many items were assigned to each mod to the log.
