This mod requires the following mods to function
denikson-BepInExPack_Valheim
BepInEx pack for Valheim. Preconfigured with the correct entry point for mods and preferred defaults for the community.
Preferred version: 5.4.2351README
NameThis
"Wait… which mod added this?"
Big modpacks are great until your inventory is full of things you can't place. Is that axe from Warfare or Armory? Is that cape vanilla? Which mod do you blame for that suspiciously strong shield?
NameThis answers in one glance. Hover any item and the name of the mod that added it sits quietly at the bottom of the tooltip, for example Southsil Armor, Epic Loot, Warfare, or Vanilla for base-game items.
Iron Helmet
A helm of polished iron, fit for a hero.
Armor: 14
...
Vanilla
Why you'll like it
- Zero setup. Drop it in and play. No item lists, no per-mod patches.
- Works with any mod, including ones you install next week. Detection is automatic.
- Readable names. Mod names come from their Thunderstore packages:
SouthsilArmorbecomes "Southsil Armor". - No stutter. The item-to-mod map is built once while the world loads, so hovering costs nothing.
- Unobtrusive. One small grey line, styled to match the game. You can change the format or rename mods.
- Client-side. Nothing to sync, safe to have on a server.
How it finds the mod
There is no hardcoded list, so it also works with mods you add later:
- Vanilla — items that were in the game before any mod added anything.
- Jotunn registry — Jotunn-based mods record which mod added each item.
- Mod fields — e.g. the ItemManager library (used by Therzie, Southsil and others) keeps a list of its items.
- Asset bundles — a prefab belongs to the mod that loaded the bundle containing it.
- If nothing matches — Mod.
The mod name comes from its Thunderstore package (SouthsilArmor → "Southsil Armor").
The lookup is built while the world loads, so hovering items never stutters.
