Viking Horse
Viking Horse adds immersive horses to Valheim that feel like a natural part of the Viking world.
Finding the right balance for a new creature takes time and feedback from many different playstyles. Since extensive long-term testing is difficult for me as a solo modder, I intentionally do not provide creature balance configuration options. Instead, I would like balancing decisions to be driven by community feedback and discussion.

Features
Random Horse Variations
Every horse spawns with a random combination of fur and mane colors, creating a variety of unique horses throughout the world.

Taming
Horses spawn wild in the Meadows and must be tamed before you can ride them. They are fairly rare — the spawn rate is intentionally low, so finding one can take a bit of searching. When you do find one, they love Dandelion — drop some on the ground near a horse and give it space. Once it has eaten enough, it becomes tame.
Saddle System
Craft a saddle and equip it to your horse to make it rideable.
Recipe — crafted at a Workbench (level 3):
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Leather Scraps | 10 |
| Deer Hide | 5 |
| Bronze | 3 |

Once attached, you can freely switch between four different saddle appearances.

Visible Reins
While riding, visible reins connect the rider and the horse for additional immersion.

Improved Forest Travel
To make horseback travel through forests less frustrating:
- Horses can destroy small bushes while moving through them.
- Destroyed bushes do not drop wood.
- Prevents horses from constantly getting stuck on vegetation.

Prefab / Spawn Names
For console commands, spawners, or compatibility with other mods, the prefab names are:
| Item | Prefab name |
|---|---|
| Horse (creature) | M2Horse |
| Saddle (item) | SaddleM2Horse |
Example: spawn M2Horse spawns a horse, spawn SaddleM2Horse gives you a saddle.
Community Feedback
The balancing of this creature is intentionally community-driven.
Rather than providing extensive balancing configuration options, I prefer gathering feedback from actual gameplay and adjusting the creature based on community suggestions and discussion.
