Getting Started
Updated 4 days agoWayfare replaces portal tags with the world map: walk into a portal, the map opens on every portal you may use, click one and you travel there. Portals get access modes (Public, Private, Admin) and favourites. Sea gates, two pillars across water, carry a ship and its crew to any other gate picked on the map. Quick jumps make near portals quicker and skip the loading screen where nothing needs loading.
This wiki describes version 0.3.0.
Install
| Setup | Install on |
|---|---|
| Single player | your game |
| Hosting a world from your game | your game and every player who joins |
| Dedicated server | the server and every player |
Everyone needs the same version, or the player cannot join. Use r2modman or the Thunderstore app, or put
Wayfare.dll in BepInEx/plugins. Needs BepInExPack for Valheim.
Travelling by portal
- Build portals as usual. Every portal reaches every other; a tag (E on the portal) is only its name on the map.
- Walk into a portal. The large map opens with a gold portal icon on every portal you may travel to, explored or not, its name beneath; the portal you stand in is marked "You are here".
- Click an icon. You travel there with the game's own fade.
Close the map (Escape or the map key) to stay where you are; walk out and back in to choose again.
