README

Tar Coating

Equip Tar and coat wood so rain and standing water stop wearing it down. Same Tar from the tar pits. Nothing new to craft.

What you get

  • Tar coating: equip Tar, look at a piece, left-click. Costs 1 Tar.
  • Scrape tar: equip a knife, hold right-click, then left-click. You get 1 Tar back, and the swing doesn't hurt the piece.
  • Tarred look: a dark, slightly glossy tint. On by default. Sails stay untinted, and a tarred Raft matches a tarred Karve.
  • Support and durability: off unless the server turns them on. Tarred pieces can lose less support and take less damage.

Wood, hardwood, timberwood, and wood iron poles and beams can be tarred. Crafting stations, their upgrades, beehives, and bird pieces can't. If Beeswax is already on a piece, tar won't go on.

How to use

  1. Equip Tar from your inventory or hotbar.
  2. Look at a wood, hardwood, or wood iron piece.
  3. Left-click to apply tar.
  4. To take it off, equip a knife, hold right-click, then left-click. You get 1 Tar back.
