CHANGELOG

Changelog

2.2.0 — Mod updates, BetterUI dropped

A maintenance release: seven mods move to their current versions, and the one deprecated mod in the pack comes out. No mod is added.

nullheim_1_1 carries over. Nothing here wipes the world or destroys items — but see Before the server boots below, because two of these updates change state on load and are awkward to undo afterwards.

Removed

  • BetterUI: Forever Maintained 2.5.12 (BetterUI_ForeverMaintained) — Thunderstore flags it is_deprecated: true. It was still the pack's only UI mod. No replacement was chosen, so the HUD, tooltips, inventory icons and enemy health bars all go back to vanilla. Config/MK_BetterUI.cfg is removed with it (its one non-default value was showCustomTooltips = false, which only existed to keep EpicLoot's own tooltips visible — with BetterUI gone, EpicLoot's tooltips are simply what you get).

Successors do exist — the BetterUI lineage continues in Zenox/BetterUI, and shudnal/MyLittleUI covers much of the same ground — but picking one was deliberately left for a later release rather than bundled into a version bump.

Updated

  • Jotunn 2.30.1 → 2.30.2 — fixes Deep North assets overriding vanilla assets, and the legacy build menu breaking under 2.30.1's piece-category changes. Relevant here because OdinArchitect and Warfare both add build pieces.
  • EpicLoot 0.14.10 → 0.14.11 — gamepad support for the enchanting table and merchant panel; bounty/treasure map pin filters move into the vanilla pin filter panel; cancelling a sacrifice or identify no longer consumes the items anyway; Deep North trophies can be sacrificed. Balance change: Dark Green shardstones on melee weapons now give 4–9% poison damage by rarity, down from 10–60%. Anything already enchanted with one gets substantially weaker.
  • StarLevelSystem 1.15.0 → 1.18.0 — three releases. MaxBossLevel is now enforced everywhere, raid LevelMin is applied, NearBaseOnly raids finally work on dedicated servers, zone kills stop counting tames and training dummies, and stored zone/raid/Nemesis/location-reset data is keyed by world ID instead of world name. See Config/StarLevelSystem-NOTES.md for what to verify.
  • ValheimEnforcer 0.29.0 → 0.31.0 — better ProxyLoader detection with an AllowedProxyLoaderHashes allowlist, plus a fix for the server log flooding with "Delta removal ... found no match". 0.30.0's additions are all EpicMMO compatibility, which this pack doesn't use.
  • Warfare 1.9.2 → 1.9.4 — bug fixes, including a config bug in 1.9.4. Requires deleting the old config, see below.
  • StoreAndCraft 1.3.30 → 1.3.32 — Storage Displays no longer wipe nearby chests while counting items (including iron chests), the Select Types menu no longer freezes on open, and returning to base after a raid no longer saves empty reinforced chests. Adds StationFillSkipInventory (kilns, smelters, ovens and fires take from chests only, never your bag), tames that walk to the Feed Trough to eat, and beehive support for auto-drop (N).
  • TeleportEverything 1.1.3 → 1.2.0 — adds TransportCheatTierItems (default on), which also bypasses vanilla's tool-tier 1000+ portal block; that block turned out to catch at least one legitimate Ashlands boss-drop material, not just debug items. Note that 1.1.7 fixed a packaging bug where every release from 1.1.4 on actually shipped the stale 1.1.3 binary — so this update is the first time the 1.1.4–1.1.9 fixes (ally transport reliability, ZDO ownership handoff, blocked-item logging) are really installed, despite 1.1.3 having been pinned here all along.

Unchanged: BepInExPack 5.4.2350, YamlDotNet 16.3.1, JsonDotNET 13.0.4, World Advancement Progression 1.0.0, OdinArchitect 1.7.5 — all already current.

The pack is now 12 packages, down from 13.

Before the server boots on this version

  1. Check MaxBossLevel in MidnightsFX.StarLevelSystem.cfg. StarLevelSystem 1.18.0 corrects any boss above that cap as it loads, permanently. Confirm the value is what you want before the first boot, not after.
  2. Delete the generated BepInEx/config/Therzie.Warfare.cfg on the server. Therzie's notes require it on every Warfare update, and 1.9.4 specifically fixes a config bug. The pack has never committed a Warfare config, so nothing in this repo is lost — 1.9.4 regenerates it on boot.
  3. After boot, confirm zone levels still read the same in-game (StarLevelSystem's move to world-ID keying).

Player impact

Everyone must update their profile before the server restarts — ValheimEnforcer rejects mismatched mod sets, as always. The visible change is the UI: no more quality stars, durability colours, enemy HP numbers, container fill counts or repositioned HUD bars.

2.1.0 — StoreAndCraft takes over storage

Storage QoL collapses into one mod. StoreAndCraft comes in; Quick Stack Store Sort Trash Restock and AdventureBackpacks go out.

Nothing is lost from the save. nullheim_1_1 carries over untouched, and no backpack has ever been crafted on this server, so removing AdventureBackpacks destroys nothing — unlike the mod removals in 2.0.0, which is why this is a minor bump and not a season reset.

Added

  • StoreAndCraft 1.3.30 (Morda) — storage automation that goes past quick-stacking: dropped items auto-store into chests that already hold that type, crafting/upgrading/building spends materials straight out of nearby chests, and smelters, kilns and cooking stations refill themselves from storage. Also brings hammer-built Storage Displays and a Feed Trough for tames. It knows about EpicLoot — Dust/Essence/Reagent/Shard/Runestone get their own display categories, and the Enchanting Table pulls from chests. Picked because it's the most actively maintained mod in this space (last release two days before this one) and it targets BepInExPack 5.4.2350, which is what the pack already pins.

Removed

  • Quick Stack Store Sort Trash Restock 1.4.15 — superseded by StoreAndCraft, which covers quick stack, store, sort and search. Not dropped for being unmaintained; it was still current. Two mods both hooking containers, both binding sort and favorite keys, and each keeping its own favorites list is worse than either alone.
  • AdventureBackpacks 2.0.9 — cut while it costs nothing to cut. With StoreAndCraft pulling materials straight from chests for crafting and building, the main reason to haul a big inventory around the base is gone. Removing it later, once backpacks are in circulation, would have destroyed every one of them and its contents; doing it now is free.

What changes in play

StoreAndCraft does not cover everything QSSSTR did:

  • Trashing. The trash can UI and quick-trash of flagged items are gone with no replacement. Drop items on the ground instead — though note that with auto-store on, a dropped item near a chest that holds that type will be picked straight back up.
  • Bulk restock. QSSSTR topped off every configured stack (arrows, food, wood) in one press. StoreAndCraft's closest equivalent is Ctrl + Middle mouse, which fills one hovered stack at a time from nearby chests.
  • Favorite flags. The two mods keep separate favorites lists and neither reads the other's. Anything favorited through QSSSTR needs re-marking with StoreAndCraft's F. QSSSTR could also favorite a slot; StoreAndCraft favorites items only.
  • Carry weight is back to vanilla for everyone. Base logistics get easier (craft and build pull from storage), hauling loot home from a dungeon does not.

Server requirements

StoreAndCraft must be installed on the server and on every client at the same version. ValheimEnforcer already enforces that. Server-side gameplay values (ranges, LockConfig) live in com.morda.storeandcraft.cfg on the server and sync to clients on join; hotkeys do not.

2.0.0 — Season 2: trimmed to what's maintained

Valheim 1.0 has been patching fast, and a lot of mod authors have stopped keeping up. Season 1 lost Farming and PortalPreload to exactly that in 1.2.1, and a deprecation sweep before this release found the problem is wider than those two: every Azumatt mod in the pack is now flagged deprecated upstream — AzuExtendedPlayerInventory, AzuCraftyBoxes, AzuAutoStore, AzuAreaRepair, AzuContainerSizes and FastLink. They still run today, but they are frozen, and the next Valheim patch does to them what this one did to PortalPreload.

So season 2 cuts the pack from 30 mods to 14 and keeps only mods with a release since the 1.0 update.

The world is not being wiped. nullheim_1_1 carries over. Content placed by removed mods disappears from the save — see "What you'll lose" below.

Kept

EpicLoot 0.14.10, StarLevelSystem 1.15.0, Warfare 1.9.2, World Advancement Progression 1.0.0, OdinArchitect 1.7.5, AdventureBackpacks 2.0.9, BetterUI 2.5.12, ValheimEnforcer 0.29.0.

Added

  • Quick Stack Store Sort Trash Restock 1.4.15 (Goldenrevolver) — takes over the storage QoL that AzuAutoStore, AzuCraftyBoxes and MultiUserChest were covering between them, in one maintained mod.
  • TeleportEverything 1.1.3 (Zenox) — ore and carts through portals. Picked over OdinPlus's original (121k downloads but untouched since February, still pinned to BepInExPack 5.4.2200) because this one targets the current 5.4.2350 and was updated last week.

Removed

All six Azumatt mods (AzuExtendedPlayerInventory, AzuCraftyBoxes, AzuAutoStore, AzuAreaRepair, AzuContainerSizes, FastLink) as deprecated upstream. Also MagicPlugin, PlantEverything, OdinsFoodBarrels, HipLantern, MultiUserChest, Deathlink, HUDCompass, AutoDoors, Discord Screenshots, ConditionalConfigSync, ConfigurationManager, ValheimCommunityPatch and CommunityPatchExtras — cut to shrink the surface area, not because any of them is broken today.

What you'll lose

Anything the removed mods placed in the world stops existing on next load:

  • PlantEverything — non-vanilla crops and the pieces used to plant them
  • OdinsFoodBarrels — placed barrels and their contents
  • MagicPlugin — magic items, including any sitting in chests
  • HipLantern — equipped and placed lanterns
  • AdventureBackpacks is kept, so backpacks and their contents are safe.

Empty your barrels and drop anything from MagicPlugin you care about before updating. There is no migration for this.

Fast Link is gone

FastLink is deprecated, so the in-game Fast Link entry added in 1.2.2 no longer exists. Connect manually: valheim.tail22f7e.ts.net:2456 over Tailscale.

Upgrading

ValheimEnforcer goes 0.25.0 → 0.29.0 and still blocks mismatched clients, so everyone has to update their profile before they can rejoin. Update in r2modman first, then connect.

1.2.2 — Fast Link address fix

Fast Link pointed at nullheim.tail22f7e.ts.net, which has been offline since the AMP → ich777 docker move three days ago. Anyone using the Fast Link entry has been connecting to nothing.

The container runs its own Tailscale node, so the address is now valheim.tail22f7e.ts.net (100.70.148.97). Port 2456, unchanged.

1.2.1 — Valheim 1.0.14 fixes

  • Removed Farming. It calls Piece.SetCreator(long), which took a second PlatformUserID argument in the 1.0 update. Its patch on Player.UpdatePlacement runs every frame, so the call fails every frame: 14,133 errors in a 4-minute session. Same root cause that took out the other four Smoothbrain skills in 1.2.0 — Farming just fails on a different method. Still at its latest release (2.2.2, February 2026). Farming skill levels stop applying while it's out.
  • Removed PortalPreload. Two breaks from the 1.0 zone-coordinate change: its ZNetScene.InActiveArea patch no longer matches the game signature and fails to apply at startup, so the mod did nothing anyway, and its Player.UpdateTeleport patch calls ZoneSystem.GetZone, which is now static and returns Vector2s instead of Vector2i — 7,986 more errors per session. Also still at its latest release (1.0.0, February 2026).
  • Between them these were 21,642 of the 21,643 errors in the log. Every other mod in the pack is clean on 1.0.14.

Both authors published 1.0 updates for their other mods but not these two, so treat them as waiting on upstream, not on us.

1.2.0 — Individual progression, backpacks, QoL

  • Added World Advancement Progression: per-player boss progression (private keys; equipment, crafting, building, cooking, eating, taming and boss-summon locks)
  • Added AdventureBackpacks, AzuAutoStore, BetterUI (ForeverMaintained), AutoDoors
  • Removed Build Camera (Custom Hammers Edition): not wanted, and it calls a game method removed in the latest Valheim update (constant log errors).
  • Removed Smoothbrain Blacksmithing, DualWield, Mining and Foraging: all four call the same removed game method (constant errors on the server) and are already at their latest release. Farming stays. Skill levels from these mods stop applying while they're out.
  • Removed MyLittleUI (not wanted).
  • StarLevelSystem now uses vanilla raids (UseVanillaRaidConfiguration = true). Its own raids check world-wide boss keys, which World Advancement Progression keeps empty, so they'd never start. Vanilla raids are picked per player from that player's own boss kills.
  • BetterUI: custom item tooltips off, so EpicLoot's tooltips show.
  • ExtraSlots was already dropped in 1.1.0; AzuExtendedPlayerInventory covers it.
  • World Advancement Progression: taming now requires the matching boss key (LockTaming = true); every other lock is on by default
  • FastLink: IP hidden in the connection panel, password never shown in the tooltip
  • StarLevelSystem installed at defaults; its tuning is still to do

1.1.4 — FastLink address update

Server's Tailscale hostname changed to nullheim.tail22f7e.ts.net. Updated the Fast Link entry to match.

1.1.3 — UI tweaks

  • Removed VNEI (its inventory tab wasn't wanted)
  • AzuExtendedPlayerInventory: switched to the Minimal UI preset

1.1.2 — Removed TargetPortal, ProtectiveWards

Both broke player movement and zone tracking after Valheim's engine update. Removed until fixed versions ship.

1.1.1 — Game update fixes

  • Updated AzuAreaRepair, AzuCraftyBoxes, AzuExtendedPlayerInventory
  • Removed More World Locations AIO and Location Placement Accelerator (broken by the game update, no fix yet)

1.1.0 — Season 1.1: full rebuild

Fresh world, new mod list.

  • Dropped: ValheimArmory, ValheimFortress, RecipeManager, ImpactfulSkills, AchievementEnabler, ExtraSlots, balrond_constructions, DiscordTools
  • Added: Warfare, MagicPlugin, the Smoothbrain skill suite, AzuExtendedPlayerInventory, MultiUserChest, OdinArchitect, MyLittleUI, ConfigurationManager, and a handful of QoL mods (VNEI, Build Camera, AzuContainerSizes, AzuAreaRepair, HipLantern, OdinsFoodBarrels, HUDCompass, PortalPreload)
  • Magic is playable from Meadows on, not gated to late game
  • No server password — Tailscale plus the whitelist handle access

1.0.2 — FastLink entry

Server shows up in the in-game Fast Link menu.

1.0.1 — Metadata cleanup

1.0.0 — Season 1 launch
