Quads Build From Chests
Build from chests and containers: placing pieces with the hammer takes materials from your inventory, then from nearby chests (20 m, or your own range), and the build menu counts everything in storage. Pairs with Craft From Chests.
CHANGELOG
1.5.3
- Settings: edits to the config file now apply while the game runs (a server owner no longer has to restart), and a server's admins can change the server's settings from their own game with Configuration Manager, where other players see them greyed out. Your config file always keeps your own values while you play on a server (saving it there could write the server's in). Players on an older version still get the server's settings.
1.5.2
- Fix: after leaving a world for the main menu and joining one again, the chests claimed just before could no longer be looked up, and building from chests could stop working until a restart (the game renumbers its object ids on each join).
1.5.1
- Fixed in multiplayer: two players building from the same chest at the same moment could both be paid for with the same materials (a free piece). A chest another player's game was looking after is now taken over as soon as you need what is in it and counts a moment later, and a piece is only paid from chests that are yours by then. Smoother: with the hammer out, the chests in range are looked up once a second (sooner when you have moved a few metres) instead of almost every frame while you move, which mattered with a large Radius.
1.5.0
- Now in your language: English, Russian, German, Chinese (Simplified), Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, French, Polish and Turkish, following the game's own Language setting. The game's own names are used for its things (items, creatures, lands, stations). The translations were made with AI: to correct a line, or add a language, put a file in BepInEx/config/translations/com.quad.buildfromchests/ named after the game's name for the language (German.json...) with only the lines you change, copied from translations/English.json on GitHub.
1.4.3
- Fixed: it never takes from or puts into the game's Obliterator (what is in it burns when the lever is pulled), a Ledger Chest or the Arena's chests; only ordinary storage chests count.
1.4.2
- A clearer page: what it does, who needs it in multiplayer, how it gets on with other mods, and where to report a bug. The game itself is unchanged.
1.4.1
- A new id, com.quad.buildfromchests (it was com.dhack.buildfromchests): your settings move over by themselves the first time it starts, and the old settings file is kept as a backup. Restart the game after this update. If an old copy is still installed beside it, this one stands down and says which file to delete, so the two never both run. The DLL now says it was made with AI, as Thunderstore asks. It also stands down next to Toxo's Craft From Chests, CraftFromChestsPlus, Teflon Ted's Craft From Chests, StoreAndCraft and SmartCraft-Storage, as it already did next to AzuCraftyBoxes and CraftFromContainers: two such mods count every chest twice.
Earlier
-
Fix: next to Adventure Backpacks, building could cost up to twice as much (the backpack and the chests both paid). Now the backpack pays its part and the chests only what is still missing. Fix: a piece the chests can no longer pay for (someone took the materials since the menu counted them) is no longer placed for less: you get a message instead. Graves, carts, ships, a companion's bag and chest and a backpack are no longer used as storage. With AzuCraftyBoxes, CraftFromContainers or ValheimPlus' craft-from-chest installed, this mod stands down (two would count every chest twice). In multiplayer the server's Radius applies.
-
Radius can now be set anywhere from 2 to 150 m (a slider in the configuration manager), and takes effect at once: raise it to build far from your storehouse, for instance a big BuildOrders blueprint at the edge of your base (BuildOrders' ghosts, hold-E build-all and fetch key use the same range).
-
Fix: in multiplayer, building with materials from a chest another player had open could lose or duplicate items. Chests in use are now left alone.
-
Lets BuildOrders fetch materials from the chests around you into your inventory (a small shared function it leaves for it).
