Runic QoL Compatibility
Handles a chest-ownership interaction between Runic Crafting / Storage and ServersideQoL automation.
When automation temporarily owns a chest, Runic can start a handoff addressed to ServersideQoL's synthetic owner ID. That ID cannot answer as a player, leaving nearby materials visible but unavailable even after chest ownership returns.
This helper recognizes that specific owner and defers the operation without creating the unanswered handoff. Once normal ownership returns, Runic can continue using its existing checks. Rapid actions can still encounter a short storage-not-ready message; retry after a brief pause.
Installation
Install on the server and participating clients alongside the original RunicCrafting 1.1.9 and RunicStorage 1.3.9 packages. For manual installation, place the included plugin folder in BepInEx/plugins and restart. ServersideQoL keeps its usual installation scope; this helper does not require installing it on clients where it is otherwise unnecessary.
Only the reviewed public Runic binaries are supported. Other versions or modified files leave this helper inactive. The startup log reports ACTIVE when both Runic providers are patched, or INACTIVE with the reason otherwise.
The fix is applied in memory. Neither Runic DLL is replaced or edited, so normal mod-manager updates and file checks continue to use the original packages. This package contains only the compatibility helper.
Scope
- Preserves Runic's access, busy-container, inventory and real-player handoff checks.
- Does not force chest ownership, fabricate receipts, modify saved inventory, or retry crafting automatically.
- Targets the specific ServersideQoL ownership interaction. It does not diagnose or restore previously missing items.
- Requires no configuration or new hotkeys.
Remove the earlier experimental RunicHandoffCompatibility helper before using this one. They use different approaches and are not intended to run together.
Updating or removing
This is a temporary compatibility fix. After the Runic author resolves this interaction upstream, remove this helper and update the Runic packages together on server and clients. Unsupported Runic versions remain untouched by this helper.
Removing the helper and restarting restores normal Runic behavior. It stores no world or character data. This is an independent compatibility package by Vercadi.
