Build and craft from nearby storage while your base automation keeps working.

Runic QoL Compatibility addresses a chest-ownership problem between RunicCrafting, RunicStorage and ServersideQoL automation. If nearby materials appear in your recipe preview but stay unavailable after automation uses the chest, this helper lets Runic recover when normal chest ownership returns.

Built against Valheim 1.0.16 with BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2351. Requires the original RunicCrafting 1.1.9 and RunicStorage 1.3.9 binaries. Install on the server and participating clients. Keep ServersideQoL in its usual installation scope; this helper does not require adding it to clients.

FROM CHEST TO WORKBENCH / WHAT IT FIXES

ServersideQoL automation can temporarily own a chest. Runic can then wait for an ownership response that the automation cannot send, leaving nearby materials visible but unusable. The helper recognizes that situation and postpones the request until Runic can use the chest again.

• Nearby building and crafting can recover after chest automation releases ownership.
• Runic keeps its existing access and inventory checks, including checks for busy chests and other players.
• Your original Runic files stay installed. The helper applies its correction when the game or server starts.

Rapid actions can still show a brief storage-not-ready or missing-material message. Pause before trying again. This helper addresses the specific ownership interaction; it cannot restore previously lost items or resolve every storage problem.

READY THE BASE / INSTALLATION

1. Close Valheim and your mod manager. Stop the dedicated server normally before updating its files.
2. Install RunicCrafting 1.1.9, RunicStorage 1.3.9 and RunicQoLCompatibility on the server and participating clients.
3. Keep one copy of the helper. Remove the older experimental RunicHandoffCompatibility if it is present.
4. Restart the server and launch your modded profile. Use nearby storage as usual.

Manual installation: extract plugins/RunicQoLCompatibility into BepInEx/plugins. Keep the Runic DLLs from their original packages.

You can keep your existing world and characters. The helper adds no configuration or hotkeys and stores no world or character data.

FIELD NOTES / COMPATIBILITY

Look for Runic QoL Compatibility in BepInEx/LogOutput.log. Its startup message reports ACTIVE when both Runic providers have the correction, or INACTIVE with the reason it could not apply.

The helper checks the reviewed Runic binaries exactly. A newer or modified Runic build leaves it inactive until compatibility has been reviewed. Installing the helper does not make other Runic compatibility add-ons support new versions.

For a bug report, include the Runic versions, the action that failed, the container type and the relevant client/server logs. Remove private connection details before sharing logs.

UPDATES AND REMOVAL

Once an upstream Runic update resolves this interaction, remove this helper and update the Runic packages together on clients and server. To uninstall, save and quit normally, remove the helper, then restart. Runic resumes its original behavior.
