Resonance Boots Mod (W.I.P)

By: Jackziferz

This mod adds a new artifact to the game called the Resonance Boots. These boots store kinetic energy as you fall, and allow you to release the energy mid-air for a supercharged jump. This is incredibly useful in the abyss for clearing large gaps of space, or generally to save you from a long descent. The energy of your jump is proportional to that of your fall, (the longer the fall, the higher the rebound) and the cooldown of your ability is quickened based on your velocity.

Where to find the boots?

The boots have a 50% chance to replace any artifact found on any pedestal, as well as other loot tables that contain artifacts. If you'd like to access the artifact from the console, the item ID is "resonanceboots". Aditionally, "resonanceboots charge" will fill the gauge up completely.

Customization

All variables related to the mod can be found in your BepInEx/config folder under "[username].resonanceboots.cfg". If you'd like to modify the variables in-game, you can install WKLib and change them via the Mod Overlay. While listed as a dependency, this mod is entirely optional.

Installation

If you wish to install the mod manually, simply place the ResonanceBoots.dll file in your BepInEx/plugins folder.

What's Next?

I'd like to create a custom model and sprite for the artifact, since I'm using a tinted variation of the Climbing Shoes as a placeholder. I'd also like to tweak the audio cues for the charge, and create a diegetic way to monitor the charge (instead of the UI element).
