CHANGELOG

Changelog

0.8.7

  • Icons (skin, portrait, mod) with a transparent background instead of white.

0.8.6

  • Skin icon, portrait and mod icon remade from a high-resolution version of the official art.

0.8.5

  • Right hand fixed: while she holds the katana every finger now wraps the handle (three joints bending around it) and the thumb folds over the fingers; when the katana is sheathed both hands rest half open instead of staying in a stiff fist.
  • New skin icon, portrait and mod icon from Miyabi's official art, centred on her head.

0.8.4

  • Hair and clothes physics now simulated 30 times per second instead of 60 (about half its cost). Stiffness and damping are converted so the hair and coat move the same way per second. Setting: Physics > Rate (30; 60 = the old, smoothest swing).

0.8.3

  • Code review for performance, same look:
    • only the bones the pose builds on (physics chains, centre) are reset each frame instead of all 436;
    • skin index and invisibility read through compiled accessors instead of reflection every frame; no more string allocations when checking the hidden vanilla meshes;
    • the "is she attacking" check caches each skill state type; the character-select check stops after the model's first seconds;
    • hair/cloth links are grouped once instead of scanning every link for every group on every step;
    • item display hiding re-applied twice a second; renderers only switched when their state changes;
    • Expose mark hook: direct field access and each mark handled once.

0.8.2

  • More performance, same look: hair/cloth contacts are only solved on physics steps (not on every rendered frame at high FPS), the physics pauses while Miyabi is off screen (other players, camera turned away) and restarts from her pose when she is seen again, item display scan once a second.

0.8.1

  • Performance: the hair and cloth physics no longer read bone transforms inside their inner loops (chain roots and body colliders are read once per frame), and hair/cloth pairs that cannot touch are skipped early. Miyabi now writes her own cost to the BepInEx log every 600 frames ("Miyabi cost ...").
  • Chair pose: she now sits exactly on the chair (her hips are placed on it instead of following the Mercenary's lobby animation), and her hands rest palm down on her thighs.

0.8.0

  • New character select pose: Miyabi sits on a white plastic chair facing the camera, hands on her knees, her skirt over her thighs, her sheathed katana standing against the chair at her left. Setting: Model > MenuChair (false = the standing pose).
  • Sheathing is no longer instant: after an attack the katana flies back from her hand, lines up with the scabbard and slides in (about 0.2 s).

0.7.1

  • The katana goes back into its scabbard twice as fast after an attack (0.4 s).

0.7.0

  • The katana now stays in its scabbard on her hip when she is not attacking, and is drawn only while she uses a skill (it goes back a moment after the last attack). Setting: Weapons > SheatheWhenIdle.

0.6.0

  • Frost flames on the special (R), in the same style as M1, M2 and the dash:
    • Eviscerate: flare, frost ring and a circle of flames when she vanishes, a swirling frost storm (ghost fire, sparks, light streaks) where she slashes, frost hits on every enemy cut, and a flare with flames when she reappears; the dash toward the target gets the dash flare and flame trail;
    • Slicing Winds: a burst of ghost fire along the katana and a small flare when she throws; the thrown blades and their hits turn to frost.

0.5.3

  • Expose mark in a lighter blue (#47BFFF).
  • The ghost floating beside Miyabi is half as big.

0.5.2

  • The ghost is now black like in the game: black body and horns, white eye with a red pupil, surrounded by a blue aura (glowing toward its outline) and a denser trail of blue wisps.
  • New Expose mark drawing: Randy's own line art of the horned ghost (blue strokes, transparent background).

0.5.1

  • The ghost's eye now follows the official art: dark head, wide white eye in its lower half, red-orange iris (lighter at the bottom) with a white glint.

0.5.0

  • Miyabi's horned ghost now floats beside her in runs, like in Zenless Zone Zero: the ghost model from the original model pack, a glowing blue shell with a rim glow, blue horns and its fierce pink eye. It follows her above her left shoulder with a little lag, bobs, turns where she faces and leaves small blue wisps when it moves. Setting: Effects > GhostCompanion.

0.4.1

  • Fixed the Laser Sword slashes disappearing after the first swings: the reused (pooled) slash effects were caught by Model > HideMercenaryEffects. That setting now only looks at the Mercenary's own model effects, right after Miyabi appears.
  • Smaller, smoother frost flames: soft wisps that fade out on every side (no more square edges), fewer of them, shorter lived, slightly tilted at random.

0.4.0

  • New Expose mark: while a player uses Miyabi, the mark the Laser Sword's third hit puts on enemies becomes Miyabi's horned eye spirit, a clean flat 2D line drawing in two close blues (no fill, no glow), drawn over the enemy like the original ring. Quick pop-in, slow breathing, quick pop-out when the mark is consumed. Setting: Effects > EyeMark.

0.3.0

  • Frost flames like Miyabi's in Zenless Zone Zero, on the Laser Sword (M1), Whirlwind / Rising Thunder (M2) and the dash (Blinding Assault / Focused Assault):
    • frost crescents: white-hot edge, blue body, tail breaking into flame;
    • blue ghost fire licking off the katana along every swing;
    • frost hits: 4-point star, crossing light streaks, ice motes; heavy hits (combo finisher, M2, dash) also crack the ground with ice;
    • Whirlwind: frost ring and a circle of flames at her feet; Rising Thunder: a column of rising flames;
    • dash: a long horizontal flare with a star, ghost fire trailing from her whole body, frost ring on the ground.
  • Only players using the skin get them; no light is added (the lights of the Mercenary's dash effect are switched off). Setting: Effects > FrostFlames.
  • The Mercenary's swing and dash effects are no longer caught by Model > HideMercenaryEffects.
  • Now requires R2API ContentManagement (the frost effects are registered so every player sees them).

0.2.2

  • Livelier hair, like in Zenless Zone Zero: it trails behind her when she runs, sprints or dashes and swings when she stops or turns (looser, less damped strands with their own lag). New settings: Physics > HairLag (0.3) and Physics > ClothLag (0.12, replaces Lag).

0.2.1

  • Hair and coat now interact: hair strands and the coat, sleeve and skirt push each other instead of going through (two-way, checked segment against segment). Setting: Physics > HairClothCollisions.
  • The coat and sleeve hang with their weight: they swing much more freely instead of following the arms like stiff wings.

0.2.0

  • Character select pose after Miyabi's idle in Zenless Zone Zero: standing, sheathed katana held in her left hand at her hip. The preview there is mirrored by the game, which made hair and skirt flip: there they now follow the pose. Setting: Model > MenuPose.
  • Hair no longer goes through the clothes: collisions are solved last, hair strands are thicker against the body, and the hair-only collision rule now works as intended.

0.1.3

  • Fixed hair and skirt flipping around on the character select screen: there they now follow the pose.
  • Calmer, more natural hair in game: each hair segment stays close to its animated direction (long strands no longer curl up and fly sideways), stiffer and more damped strands, hair no longer pushed out by the arms, less lag when running (setting renamed Physics > Lag, default 0.08).

0.1.2

  • The Mercenary's own model effects are hidden on Miyabi: the blue point lights on his chest and sword, and the pre-dash glow. Setting: Model > HideMercenaryEffects.

0.1.1

  • Fixed Miyabi being invisible: the body mesh of the Mercenary is now found reliably (his alternate skin meshes are ignored), and Miyabi waits for it before being built.

0.1.0

  • First version: Hoshimi Miyabi's body on the Mercenary, retargeted onto all of the Mercenary's animations.
  • Her katana in her right hand, following the Mercenary's sword swings; her scabbard on her left hip.
  • Hair, fox ears, coat, sleeve and skirt physics.
  • Item displays hidden on Miyabi, and her portrait in the scoreboard, ally cards and end of run report.
