What It Does

  • Auto-saves the level you're on.
  • Auto-loads when you come back to a saved level.

What Gets Saved

  • Spawnables, crate spawners, positions, scale, rigidbody physics, velocity, angular velocity, gravity state
  • Constraints, connection points, target objects
  • NPC health, death state, body/limb positions
  • Destructible object health and damage
  • Active state, enabled components, lights, renderers, colliders, scripts, flashlight toggles
  • Player location (optional, you can turn it off)

How Loading Works

  • Queued loading - slow spawnables get retried
  • Rigidbodies freeze temporarily while loading so things don't collapse into a mess

Save Files

JSON files go in BONELAB/SceneSave/SaveFiles

BoneMenu Controls

You can do all this from BoneMenu:

  • Manual save/load
  • Browse saves
  • View save details
  • Delete one save or clear them all
  • Repair filenames
  • Add/remove levels from blacklist
  • Clear blacklist
  • Toggle "Save Player Location"
  • Check mod version
  • Refresh menu

Save & Quit Button

There's a Save & Quit button. Use it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Don't force-close the game, don't kill it from Steam, don't end the process. That'll probably break the save for the level you're on.

A Few Things

  • Blacklisted levels get ignored entirely. No save, no load.
  • The mod filters out: player rig, UI/menu stuff, spent casings, loose empty mags, certain static boards.
  • If you want to share a save file, the other person needs the exact same level and the same spawnable mods installed.
