Chubby Bazooka — Public Beta 0.3.0
Short tube. Big noise. A chunky, original low-poly rocket launcher for R.E.P.O.
Features
- A real physics item: grab, carry, drop, store and buy through the native item system.
- Regular shop pool, $5,000 starting price, configurable by the host. Stock is random; it will not appear every visit.
- Six rechargeable rockets by default. Use the game's charging station. Capacity is configurable from 1–12.
- Visible travelling rockets, muzzle flame and smoke, orange exhaust trail, staged flash/fire/sparks/smoke explosions, game-routed sounds, physical recoil and light camera shake.
- Enemy blast damage: 120 maximum within 3 metres by default, distance falloff and native enemy resistance/death handling.
- Optional friendly fire, OFF by default. The host selects damage/radius; player damage falls linearly to zero and world geometry blocks it. Self damage is separately OFF by default.
- Small model improvements: muzzle collars, panel seams, defined trigger guard, rear latch and subtle bevels. No high-resolution textures.
Install
Install BepInExPack 5.4.2305 and REPOLib 4.2.0, then install this package in a mod manager. For manual installation, place ChubbyBazooka.dll in BepInEx/plugins/ChubbyBazooka/. All model, icon and audio assets are embedded in the DLL. Remove older copies of this plugin to avoid duplicate versions.
The host and every client must install the same Chubby Bazooka version and dependencies. Restart the game after installing or changing capacity/price.
Grab the bazooka and use the game's normal item activation control. There is a two-second cooldown. Store/recharge it using the native inventory and charging systems.
Host configuration
Generated at BepInEx/config/berat.repo.chubbybazooka.cfg after first launch:
[Shop]
Price = 5000
[Ammo]
StartingRockets = 6
[FriendlyFire]
EnableFriendlyFire = false
PlayerMaxDamage = 60
PlayerDamageRadius = 3
AllowSelfDamage = false
[Testing]
EnableInfiniteAmmoSpawn = false
InfiniteAmmoSpawnKey = F7
SpawnCooldownSeconds = 3
Friendly fire calculations use only the host's settings. Native player-health RPCs apply damage on the owning client and replicate health; client configuration cannot authorize a blast. Self protection uses the firing player's identity captured at launch, even after releasing the weapon. Missing shooter identity fails closed when self damage is disabled. Native invincibility and death rules remain in effect.
When explicitly enabled by the host, F7 spawns one TEST bazooka near the host, in supported missions/truck scenes, with a three-second spawn cooldown. It has infinite ammunition but the normal firing cooldown. Shop-bought bazookas retain limited ammunition. Clients cannot use this host-only spawn shortcut.
Validation and multiplayer status
Built against installed R.E.P.O. 0.4.4.3 / Unity 2022.3.67f2, BepInEx 5.4.23.5 and REPOLib 4.2.0. Isolated tests use real Unity/game assemblies and cover registration, physics, ammunition isolation, collisions, enemy damage/death, player targeting, authority, cover and duplicate-hit prevention.
A real singleplayer run also verified native player health (friendly fire OFF: unchanged; self protection ON: unchanged; explicit self damage ON: 100 → 88), Cleanup Crew health (350 → 231 → 112 → 0), and eight TEST shots without ammunition drain. A 16-second video was captured from the actual game framebuffer with game audio.
The author received a successful friend-lobby report for 0.2.2: bazookas fired and killed monsters. 0.3.0 friendly fire has not been independently verified with two real networked clients. Singleplayer health tests and dispatch fixtures do not establish multiplayer success. Treat friendly fire as experimental and keep it disabled unless your private group wants to test it.
Known limitations
- Stock is random and limited by native purchase rules.
- All peers need this mod; vanilla-only clients are unsupported.
- Active rockets are not reconstructed for late joiners. Host migration during a rocket's short flight is unsupported; start a fresh lobby after changing hosts.
- Native player RPCs reject stale target positions more than two metres away, so fast movement/high latency may reject a player hit. This native safety check is preserved.
- Cleanup Crew was verified in this release. Other monster types were not comprehensively retested; there is no claim of universal monster compatibility.
- No troll menu, spawn panel, god mode, flight or teleport features.
