README

ArenaGauntlet

Requires Survivors of the Void to host. Other expansions are optional.

Survive ten rounds in a Greek stone colosseum, recruit allied companies, and build your survivor between battles. Each round brings a mixed horde followed by champions. Clear the fight, collect your gold, and visit five merchant alcoves at the south gate. The entire gauntlet takes place in the same arena.

How to play

  1. Install through Thunderstore and select ArenaGauntlet in the game-mode menu. Everyone in multiplayer needs the same version. Replace older copies instead of keeping duplicate plugins.
  2. Choose your survivor and difficulty. Each player starts with three random white or green items. A notification confirms: Starting items have been granted! The opening fight starts automatically once the party arrives and a short grace period ends.
  3. Defeat the horde, then its champions. After each clear, the merchant shutters open and dead teammates return for the shopping break.
  4. Buy supplies, scrap unwanted items, and hire commanders. The combat clock pauses while you shop.
  5. Follow the arrow to the brazier and interact to ready up. The HUD shows how many players are ready. Once everyone agrees, a short countdown starts the next fight. Interact again to cancel your ready vote.

A party wipe ends the attempt.

Five merchant alcoves

  • Items: six gold-priced choices, including eligible modded items. Each player can buy three whites, two greens and one red total per break. All normal-item displays share that player's limit for each rarity, including duplicate offers.
  • Lunar items: six choices costing two lunar coins each, paid from your normal coin balance. Regular random lunar coin drops remain active during fights.
  • Equipment: six gold-priced choices to complement your build or replace equipment you no longer need.
  • Drones: spend gold on gunner, healing or missile drones. These offers are shared by the party, so coordinate who recruits them.
  • Scrap trader: trade one green scrap for the offered green item, or one red scrap for the offered red item. A scrapper stands nearby. The trader accepts matching scrap only.

Offers refresh after each clear, and item allowances reset for the next break. Lunar, equipment and exchange offers each allow one purchase per player per display per break. Pick up purchases and scrapper output normally. Automatic enemy-loot collection leaves these pickups available for you. Finish scrapping before the party readies up.

Champions and progression

Major bosses appear on rounds 5 and 10: a Twisted Scavenger at the midpoint and Mithrix at the end. Ordinary rounds 6-9 bring two champions. Both must fall before the next shopping break.

Enemy numbers and strength rise across the ten-round cycle. Enemy kills grant 50% more experience. The default loot balance aims for a generous 80-90 items per player by Mithrix, including your starting items, normal shop purchases and boss rewards. Horde drops increase gradually, and co-op loot accounts for the whole party so each player can keep pace. Elites have a higher chance within the same round allowance. Good shop luck, lunar purchases and bonus item effects can add more.

Gold is awarded immediately when you clear a round, in your ordinary wallet. The reward grows with shop prices and budgets for items, equipment and drones. Enemies give no base gold; item effects can still provide their own rewards. Spend carefully as later prices climb.

Command your allies

Press B to open the War Council. Earn renown from kills, then spend it on a commander and its squad. Hired-unit kills earn renown for their owner; champion kills reward every connected player. Renown is separate from shopping gold.

Ten companies offer healing, barriers, slowing attacks, firepower and other support. Living commanders replenish their squads between rounds. Fallen companies can be hired again. The council stays available during combat, but opening it does not pause the fight.

Company tiers unlock on rounds 1/2/4/6/8, costing 20/40/80/140/220 renown. Each player can field three companies solo, two with 2-3 players, or one with 4 or more. A lower host limit can apply. If a joining player lowers the cap, excess companies withdraw with a hire-cost refund. Manually discharging a company gives no refund.

Keep fighting

With endless continuation enabled, readying at the brazier after round 10 begins another, harder cycle. Disable continuation before starting if you want the tenth-round clear to end in victory. The host can adjust gameplay and presentation settings through Risk of Options.
