Menu Overhaul
Graphics settings, better weapon and map menus, a mods section for editing configs, and lots more.
Graphics settings
The OPTIONS page gets a GRAPHICS row (value EDIT, after VSYNC). Press A on it to open the GRAPHICS page; B or BACK returns to OPTIONS. The game's own ANTI ALIASING setting moves to the top of that page (it works and saves exactly as before). Left/Right changes a setting (the 0-100 sliders stop at the ends; the others wrap around), and every change shows straight away. DEFAULT is the game's exact look, so you can always go back.
| Row | Values | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| ANTI ALIASING | ON / OFF | The game's own setting, moved here from OPTIONS. |
| BLOOM | OFF / LOW / DEFAULT / HIGH | The glow around bright things (weapons, effects, menus). |
| VIGNETTE | OFF / LOW / DEFAULT / HIGH | The darkening around the edges of the screen. |
| ABERRATION | OFF / LOW / DEFAULT / HIGH | The colour fringes toward the edges of the screen (chromatic aberration). |
| PAUSE BLUR | ON / OFF | The blur, darkening and fringes behind the pause menu. OFF keeps the game sharp behind the menu. |
| BRIGHTNESS | 0 to 100 (steps of 10, 50 = the game's) | Brightness of the game (not the menus). |
| CONTRAST | 0 to 100 (steps of 10, 50 = the game's) | Contrast of the game (not the menus). |
| SATURATION | 0 to 100 (steps of 10, 50 = the game's) | Colour strength of the game (not the menus). 0 is black and white. |
| FILM GRAIN | OFF / LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH | Film grain over the game. Off by default. |
Controller buttons (KEYBINDINGS)
KEYBINDINGS is rebuilt for controllers. It opens on a grid with a column for each controller player (P1 to P4, in their colours) and a row for each action: JUMP, ATTACK, BLOCK and THROW.
- Everyone edits at once, each with their own controller. Move up and down your column with the stick or d-pad.
- Press A on an action, then hold one or two buttons and let go: those buttons are now that action. A button you take is removed from any other action. START cancels.
- Changed actions are marked with
*until you save. - RESET puts your column back to the game's buttons.
- Along the bottom: KEYBOARD, SAVE and BACK (Left/Right to pick). SAVE keeps everyone's changes, BACK drops them. The player who paused can also leave with B or START (without saving).
- A tip under the buttons explains all this in the game.
- Button names follow each player's controller: A / LB / RT on Xbox pads, CROSS / L1 / R2 on PlayStation pads, B / L / ZR on Nintendo pads.
- KEYBOARD switches to the game's own keyboard bindings page, which gets an EDITING row at the top to switch back to the controllers. If no controller player has joined, or the game was paused with Escape, KEYBINDINGS opens on the keyboard page.
Buttons you can use: A, B, X, Y, LB, RB, LT, RT and clicking either stick. Moving and aiming stay on the sticks and d-pad, and START still pauses.
Layouts are saved per player slot (P1 to P4) in BepInEx\config\MenuOverhaul.controllers.txt, so whoever plays P2 gets P2's layout. Enhanced Bots' bots and the keyboard player always keep the game's bindings.
MAPS and WEAPONS screens
GAME OPTIONS' MAPS and WEAPONS screens become two-pane lists: groups on the left (with how many are on), their entries on the right, and an info line underneath.
- Up/Down move, Right enters the list, Left goes back to the groups.
- A switches a map/weapon on or off, or a whole group on the left.
- X switches everything in the group on (or off, if it all already is).
- LB/RB change group. B in the list steps back to the groups; B on the groups closes the screen.
- Keyboard: arrows, Enter, Q/E, X, R (= Y), Backspace (Escape closes).
- Mouse: point to select, click to switch, the wheel changes group (over the groups) or scrolls the list, Shift+wheel changes tickets, right click steps back.
MAPS: the game's map groups (Woods, Desert, Factory and so on, MY MAPS for your level editor maps, WORKSHOP for subscribed maps), a preview picture of the selected map, and how many maps are in play. Y switches the game's RANDOM ORDER setting.
WEAPONS: the game's weapon rows and the selected weapon turning in a close-up window with its stats: damage (and headshot damage), fire rate, ammo and recoil, plus a note for the weapons that do something special. With Spawn Rate Changer installed, each weapon also shows its share of the drops and its tickets.
Using Weapon Framework? The WEAPONS screen then shows its 12 categories and modded weapons, with the same close-ups and stats (plus ticket sliders with Spawn Rate Changer).
MODS
A MODS button under KEYBINDINGS lists every installed mod that has settings (except the ones with screens of their own: Menu Overhaul's settings are on OPTIONS > GRAPHICS, and Weapon Framework's and Spawn Rate Changer's on the WEAPONS screen). Press A on one to see its settings as option rows, like the game's OPTIONS page:
- Left/Right changes a value (A also flips ON/OFF and cycles choices). Numbers stop at their limits.
- Y puts the selected setting back to its default (shown under the list, with the setting's description).
- B goes back to the list, then to the pause menu.
- Mouse and keyboard: point and click, the wheel or the scroll bar scrolls, R or Delete resets, right click or Escape goes back.
Changes are saved to the mod's config file straight away. Free-text and keyboard-key settings are shown but can't be changed here yet (text settings with a fixed list of choices cycle like the others). Settings are locked during online matches.
Pause menu
- Only the player who paused controls the pause menu, including resuming. Everyone else's buttons do nothing until it's closed. If they paused with Escape, the keyboard and mouse own the menu. If the owner's controller disconnects, anyone can take over. (The lock can be turned off:
OnlyPauserControlsMenu.) - "P2 PAUSED" in the pauser's colour above the pause buttons, when 2 or more players are in.
Fixes
These keep the game's look and just make things work:
- The "Game Options" button is written in capitals like the others (GAME OPTIONS), and its page title matches the button. Stray line breaks in some labels are gone, and GAME OPTIONS and KEYBINDINGS use the same text size.
- Going back from a page selects the button you came from, not RESUME.
- Closing the map or weapon screen lands on MAPS / WEAPONS again.
- GAME OPTIONS wraps from the bottom to the top, like OPTIONS does.
- EDITOR no longer gets stuck on "ARE YOU SURE?": every pause starts with EDITOR again.
- The volume and screen shake rows stop at 0 and 100 like sliders, instead of jumping from 100 straight to 0.
- Clicking the mouse while a controller player has the pause menu no longer stops their controller from working.
Config
BepInEx\config\stickfight.menuoverhaul.cfg, your mod manager's config editor, or MODS in the pause menu. The graphics settings are listed above and easiest to change on the GRAPHICS page.
| Section | Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Menu | OnlyPauserControlsMenu |
true |
Only the player who paused can use the pause menu and resume. |
| Menu | ShowWhoPaused |
true |
Shows "P2 PAUSED" in the pauser's colour above the pause menu when 2 or more players are in. |
Compatibility
Fully playable with controllers and needs no mouse. Everything here is visual or only changes your own menus and buttons, so it's safe to keep installed online. The pause lock only affects the pause menu on your own screen.
